Ogre team low on ogre's

Post by fire olli »

Hi all,

I have an ogre team in a league which has only played 3 games and already lost an ogre :( My stats are W1 D0 L2.

So i am left with a team that looks like this:

3 ogres (No Skills)
9 snotlings (1 has diving tackle)
3 re rolls
Apo.

TV 89

I think the next game i am playing is against dwarves TV100 :( and the one after that against halflings TV100.

I am after a bit of advice on how to set up. I was think of all the ogers on one side of the line and just try and beat my way up that side of the pitch. The other option was to give an ogre the ball and just rumble up the pitch.

Then there is the question of stopping the dwarves from scoring :?: .

And before you all say scrap the team, i don't like to do that, i tlike to try and carry on with what i have got.

Cheers for any advice

Olli

olli - it is a good idea to have an Ogre carry the ball on offense.

Much will depend on your inducements. Spend wisely, you need more players, some Stars would be good. An extra re-roll would also be good.

Try and tie up and target the Troll Slayers - they are the best Dwarf weapon against the Ogres. If you tie up the Troll Slayers, it's easier for other Ogres to tie up multiple Dwarfs.

All the best and good luck.

gratz on the win!

Cherish it, other than that, I've got nothing.

3 ogres + x snots just isnt enough to do any meaningful actions vs 11 dwarves with blanket Blackle. You can try limit it to 1-0 by not trying to score at all and playing time in a corner until a desperate TTM attempt. You can also try gangfoul all your players out so you can get at least 1-2 dorfs with you, but dont hold your breath on that either =).

Have faith, there is always a way to win.

Gang foul sounds good, forgot that tactic.

I'll get 110 in inducements, I was thinking star player and a card for the random factor.

It's going to be a hard game whatever happens.

I have no suggestions not already offered by the above posters but I will say this - good on ya for not quitting! I have also never restarted a team mid-season and don't beleive in it. Stay strong, the Ogres will bounce back!

I lost 2-1. And now have 1 ogre for the next game. Another ogre died, even after app. I also have an ogre with -1 ma so that's mng. I am going to find it hard to carry on with these but I will do my best.

Well you should get quite a lot of inducement sin your next game, so take a wizard, maybe a ogre merc and brick Fa'art amd grotty. Do you now how much you are going to get in inducments yet.

As said above try and score with your Ogre. If you manage to get 1-0 then try and see out the game with that score line. Yes it is very hard because Ogres are so terrbile in CRP/LRB6 but if the ball should bobble free a good tactic can be to just camp round the ball so no one can pick it up for the rest of the game.

But i really dont facny your chances. 1 ogre is just too few to compete. even after inducements whihc im guessing you have a lot.

Brick farth/Grotty + bomber dribblesnot.

Carry with AG4 gobbo, use dribblesnot as a linegobbo play a 2 ogre, 2 goblin 7 snotling line =). Foul a lot.

The only theoretically competetive ogreteam would have 6 ogres, brickfarth + bertha. The downside is the cost of the 6 ogres which means by the time you get to 8 ogres + 1 goblin + 2 snots your opponent has EVERYTHING he wants rostered.

Halfling hot pot.

You can take upto 3 rerolls away from you oppenent and you gain them. Watch teams crumbe without their rerolls.

It's an idea.

You earned all my respect for holding on to that team after these unlucky throwbacks! You're heading into some harsh times building up that team again, so I honestly wish you all the best.

I had more luck with my Ogre team. Even after 20 matches they're still all alive and even the death toll on my Snotlings is not as high as I expected it to be.

Boy, sometimes Nuffle likes to sink his blade in to the hilt - and then he twists it...
