Re: Tactical Gems
I definitely agree that if you can get an unassailable formation downfield that's preferable to spreading out your attack. Sometimes those are the same thing, like a three-man screen with two Catchers downfield of them.
Oh, and another one:
Good things come to those who wait.
Committing all your players to the scrum is dangerous, as is getting the ball downfield before the play develops. I have this friend who loves playing elves but took a whole season to learn about dropping back and protecting the ball with empty space until he could get a good place to throw to.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

Re: Tactical Gems
Then what do you mean by "The risks of being sent off increasingly outweigh the rewards of KO’s and CAS’s when you have a material advantage"? You are saying that the risk of being sent of isn't worth the reward of a KO or CAS, yet you say that I should foul anyway?B SIDE wrote:

I was being cryptic?
No... wait. I wrote it at the pub. Yes, that's it.
Should read "outweighed by". Will fix. Thanx.

Re: Tactical Gems
Have you seen the Film Dune?
The WE Coach, Kisarak of the team FreElfen was watching his team get caught up on a grind.
He was seen from the side lines yelling and screaming really loudly, the refs thought it was a sonic weapon (nothing found)... Kisarak had been yelling to move the Catcher, Edestria Laup to Move Deep (Mauve dip). Some thought the Kisarak had been on the Spice.
The grind stalled and the ball went free and was quickly converted into a TD.
The Rachadeh Satzkwi or Dune Defence was born.
Utterly mangled but there you go.
