Re: WE Thrower-4skill?
Safe Throw if you only use him on Offense.
Dodge if he plays defense at all.

He'll play defense if the team runs low on players...

Re: WE Thrower-4skill?
Well Safe Throw will be used more than dodge.
Yes he may come out and play defence but those are the breaks.

Do you really think so?Smurf wrote:Well Safe Throw will be used more than dodge.

Every turn the player is on the field there is a chance he will have to dodge. In any game, how many times will one thrower throw the ball? And then Safe throw only comes into play if there is a chance to intercept (so you get a chance to negate what is typically a 1 in 6 chance to intercept) or if you fumble on a roll other than 1 (which will rarely happen with this player).
I'm not saying you shouldn't take the skill, just that it's usefulness might be limited by comparison. It's certainly useful when you need it, though.

If he plays on defense block, tackle, or diving tackle might be a better skill over dodge. I'd pick sure hands in any senario.

Ah. I never take Sure Hands on an elf, unless I'm so fortunate as to get a #2 Thrower as a dedicated returner (rare). I figure it doesn't pass the Pro test, because as the ace back he'll catch as many balls as he picks up.

Re: WE Thrower-4skill?
Sure, Strip Ball can be found on some teams in my league. But Strip Ball is easy to counter without Sure Hands. Get enough Side Step, and the stripper will never get to the carrier. Besides, WE are the best keep-away team in BB, except maybe HE; usually if the other side gets the ball away it's because somebody rolled Nuffle's Tits, and it's loose on the field.

Re: WE Thrower-4skill?
Wood Elf throwers should almost never get hit, which is why Sure Hands and Dodge are less optimal choices. I love Safe Throw because it essentially gives your Thrower added mobility by increasing his movement options. Another good idea is Sure Feet, Throwers are often called to do some extra GFIs.

Re: WE Thrower-4skill?
I've been thinking about the 5th skill. Only 25 throws away
I though Pro would be good, as it can help on all the other dice rolls. The 6th skill is way way and cannot contemplate 2 skills worthy. Originally sure feet and sure hands were a thought.
