Kick!
I gained the 'kick' skill on an orc lineman. It's seems very usefull but I'd like some tips on ball placement.
My team is just starting out( 2-0) and I have 3 BOs, 3Btz( mighty blow on1), thrower, gobbo, 4 lineorcs( 1 w/gaurd 1w/kick).

Either kick short - so that you can put the ball under immediate pressure or long so that your opponent can't cage up so easily.
The sweet spot is 3 squares in from a corner.
Don't forget that you choose to use kick after direction and distance have been worked out.

Best thing is to send it to a corner. A back one if they are slow a front one if they are fast. Sending to the front ones allows u to place it in tz's rite off the bat and in the back makes them take longer to put a cage around it.

Was it ever decided if Kick could be used on the "Bad Kick" kickof result? And if yes, how was the distanced worked out (2d6/2 or d6/2 + d6/2)?

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Poxous: you might find this tool of mine useful when deciding where exactly to kick off:
http://www.ee.oulu.fi/~ttokola/BB/kick/
It doesn't give any tactical tips, but you can check what are the odds of kicking out of bounds and what is the most likely area for the ball to land.
Featuring the following scenarios:
Good kick
Bad kick
Good kick with the kick-skill and
Bad kick with the kick-skill.
And yes, kick-skill halves the distance - there is no mention of dice in the skill description. So you simply roll two dice and take half the result.
