I'm already developing two Wrestle GR (Wrestle already with Tackle/Strip Ball/Dauntless all in their future) and I have a move boosted GR a single spp away from sprint so I have options on defense and offense in the works.
This guy has just picked up his 2nd skill and a move bust in his last couple of games, long term he's probably not going to be a star now but I was wondering how people would see him developing to compliment the rest of the team in the short term.
Dauntless seems a good choice to give the long range blitz option.
Tackle combines well with the safety roll to take down dodgers.
Side-Step, it's a great space control skill when combined with Blodge.
I'm not looking at him as a ball retriever particularly so he's likely to be targetting opponent catchers and/or providing assists. My league has a single other ST2 player in it, and there not common in higher divisions either, so this may lean towards dauntless as the first of these.

I would suggest Sidestep, it's a great defensive skill and you already have two other GR built for blitzing so Dauntless isn't a priority. After Sidestep take Shadowing then Diving Tackle.

Can you use both shadowing and diving tackle? I'd have thought using diving tackle rules out using shadowing. If I use diving tackle and he re-rolls successfully then I'm left on the floor in a heap and can't use shadowing any more if I understand it correctly.Coachbalrog wrote:I would suggest Sidestep, it's a great defensive skill and you already have two other GR built for blitzing so Dauntless isn't a priority. Side-step I like, shadowing could be a pain for some players

It's the combination of the two, sidestep and shadowing which would present problems. It's easy enough either block or blitz off a shadowing player. Sidestep on the other hand with built in dodge mv9.. bad news. So sidestep first. Makes for an effective sideline runner too.

Sidestep. With blodge keeping him upright, sidestep will help compensate for the move bust and move closer to the ball/endzone.

Thanks for the comments, went with sidestep in the end. It's the realisation that of the various runners he's less likely to be doing the hitting that made dauntless/tackle a bit less worthwhile.
