I've got the new Willy Miniatures Troll in my team and am using the Impact Ratmen as my Skaven. I looked around for some less serious ones but couldn't find much. The Gaspez Skaven are not too serious and I thik a couple have mutations (i know 1 certainly has a big hand) I'm not personally a fan of the miniatures but they are an option.

The gaspez mice men scults arnt great but the humor is there, one has a jetpack!
The new impact ratmen arnt very serious (he lied) just look at the linemen. I think they look warpstoney and would work well with these fantastic goblins as james just said.

As for troll, yeah neomics, but the black scorpion one has a hand that's begging to be snipped and replaced with a claw and has scales on his back that could be painted into warpstone chips.

I went ahead and ordered the black scorpion troll just to try it out.

I already have the new willy troll, but it seems a tad static (even though it is a nice model!). I actually bought a Reaper Lardgulp troll (the one with two heads) and just an hour ago chopped its arms off, but he looked really stupid, even for a troll. The Black scorpion one has movement akin to the goblin models, and I still have that chaos spawn claw unused. I'm sure it'll fit like a glove.

Yeah and I ordered Freebooter miniatures Hueso Nargs as proxies to the skaven blitzers, per the original plan. I also have a few jumping squigs coming, I'll see if the pink horror arms fit them, so they could be the throwers. And perhaps a few of the upcoming Volmarian hobgoblins from Greebo as the two missing skaven linemen?

Edit: And thanks to Digger for spotting Hueso Narg in the first place! I would've probably missed it otherwise.

Here are the blitzers and the throwers.

The angle makes their heads look enormous, they aren't, even if their bodies are scrawny.

Best work is often done whilst tired... hence I am up at this time writing a 1000 word assignment for Thursday. Awesomsauce on the miniatures and the fluff! :orc:

Ok. I thought the squig riding throwers weren't the most exciting idea. So what do with them? Bear in mind I'm not even sure it was a good idea, and I might just have to buy the squig models again.
I shaved the legs off them, put them on small flying bases (which seemed to be the only way to give them a sense of motion), added some stiches and patchwork to make them look more like objects than living beings. Added some milliput to elongate the other and give some girth to the other (to represent the different parts of the "bounce). Hopefully they don't just look like levitating blobs.

So here are the throwers on squig hoppity hops (aka space balls, aka kangaroo balls)...

At one point I had the thought of proxying the troll with a giant spider, you know, keeping the whole thing subterranean.

The idea for the throwers was to replace their mounts with inanimate objects, so it's _just_ the player, and not two beings. But now I'm leaning back towards the squig, after all that work. Win some, lose some :)

Hmm I think there is some freaky wierd things going on here. All in a good way. Cool conversions. The football is particularly good. Hope we get a chance to see some painted up in the near future.

Maybe some small bat wings on the Squig? The way you see unrealistically small wings on some dragons?

Here's the troll.

I was very impressed by the black scorpion troll, very strong facial features, looks like it will be fun to paint. Anyway, I wasn't impressed by the amount and uniformity of the scales on his back, so I GS/MP'ed some warpstone on his back and did a small cluster on his shoulder from plasticard.
The obvious thing with the claw would have been to convert his right hand, but I tried both arms, and the pose is just much more dynamic with the claw on his left arm. The troll is on a 30 mm base on the picture, the claw slightly extends over the base, but I don't see that as being a problem on the gameboard.

Edit: Here's a group shot of him with the blitzers. The little guys want to be like him when they grow up.

oi! stop thief! :pissed:

I know you said my Rok Lobsta was inspiration, but c'mon man!

anyway, lovely conversion work as always and nice to the BS Troll getting some love, I think it's a lovely mini..

I like the conversion work on your throwers, I just don't think it works I'm afraid.. it's cute that the squigs now look like living oversized footballs, but I just don't think it works, especially as the throwers on an underworld team are traditionally skaven..

Sorry! I tried two different trolls before this one and neither of them worked, and the claw looked way better on the left hand. I will give you credit, don't worry 8) I wouldn't have thought of this particular claw if you hadn't done your troll. I will most likely trim the two protruding spikes, and it won't be painted like warpstone, more like red fading into bonewhite.

I agree with you on the throwers. I was iffy the whole time doing them, but that's how I've always learned things, the hard way. They looked better when the squig still had legs.
Since the blitzers are already some sort of goblin hybrid, I think the whole team has to. I am thinking hobgoblins from the volmarian range by Greebo for the (skaven) linemen... But as for the throwers...

I would convert up some throwers from a mix of Skaven and Goblin plastics in that case..

I quite like the Greebo hobs, but I don't think they would fit in your team TBH..

keep the squigs as cheerleaders and score counters, they are well executed after all..

I ordered some actual skaven/ratmen/mice for the throwers and the linemen. I removed the riders from the squig. Since I already have counters et cetera for them team, I can use them for squigball!
