Multiple Doubles on 'Flings

Post by Piousman »

After a long-long drought, my Flings finally starting leveling up. Currently I am commonly getting 900k+ in inducements (Chef, Deeproot, Morg).

And with their temporary change in fortune, I have also finally rolled some doubles, and meed advice for them:

Team so far:

Tree 12spp - Break Tackle
Tree 27spp - Break Tackle, Multi Block
Fling 17spp - Block, Double
Fling 10spp - Block
Fling 8spp - [rolled 5x5] - Double Skill or MV+
Fling 6spp - SKILL
Fling 5spp
Fling 5spp
Fling 2spp
Fling 0spp
Fling 0spp
Fling 0spp
TRR x2

I currently have 3 Flings with leveling up, with 2 doubles and a regular skill. Previous skill holders suffered Injuries and were left go.

(A) Is there such a thing as too much Blodge on a Fling team? should I go with Block on the first Double Skill Fling? this would give me 3 blodgers.

(B) What about the second double skill Fling? Sure hands for ball carrying? Tackle for blitzing? Strip Ball for ball hunting at half-die blocks with TRR?

Finally, the regular skill, I am tempted to go DT or SS for now. My team is really missing that at this time.

(a) I don't think you can have too much block on your flings team.

(b) Sure hands is definitely a good option. Guard could also be worth a shout? There is also dirty player should you fancy giving someone a shoeing.

For your regular skill, either DT or SS would be good.

a) I personally avoid block on Flings. I rather use the double for(in this order) Dirty Player, Sure Hands, Hail Mary Pass. Once I get thos I can start thinking about getting block. It just costs too much to have enough block to make it worth.

B)But since you already have two block maybe you could create a Hit Squad. In that case I think you should take Guard or MB on the 17 spp Fling

Note: You obviously play the flings differently than me so just keep your play stile in mind when you finally decide.

Yup one with wrestle is good for nicking the ball of your opponent. Also one fling with surehands is always needed, it makes scoring those OTTD easier and means you are a little bit safer from leap strip ball elves and frogs.

You need a Dirty Player fling too though asap.

HRM.. so many options.

So far I am toying with either Kick/HMP on the newly lvl up Fling. Tackle/Guard/SH or the Block Fling.

The one thing I am not sure about is whether Kick is really worth it to the Flings, since they lack to speed to capitalize on it. Other than putting in the back field, of course.

I can see HMP working well with a Diving Catch Fling (and that does not require a double).

at least 2 blodgers, 3 if your league has too many rush teams

sure hands is a very good option
and guard, a 3+ guard everywhere;

You have 2 blocking flings so you should now focus on game winning skills. At this point one more blocking fling will have dimishing returns. Surehands on the blocking fling. DP or gaurd on the other double although stripball/tackle would be great vs other stunties. Diving tackle before sidestep on the other.

Sure hands on the new double 'fling.
Sure feet on the normal skill.
Tackle on the Block 'fling (I like the idea of having a Halfling Blitzer. He's pretty good at it.)

Thadrin is right. I have it backwards for sure. Sure hands on the new fling. Sure feet makes a lot of sense too but before you have some diving tackle? I can see arguement for both cases.

I like sure feet for a flyer. Gives you a little more security going for the OTS. Follow it up with sprint. Alternatively, go sprint first and get the extra square of range.

I'm playing flings vs the cyanide AI and I have a sprint, sure feet, +AG halfling :)

Hail Mary Pass, other flings go for the diving catch-option then.
Could be fun...

Guard, Sure Hands and Dirty Player are the only doubles options I see being worth it at this point, unless you want more Block or Wrestle, which is nice, but you have other issues outstanding right now. Besides, you're probably used to operating without Block.

I like Diving Tackle and Jump Up as singles skills, but Catch works if you often need to set up downfield for a handoff.
