I knew it would pay off in the end having a mate like Gazza who is obsessed with playing Ogres.

Regarding this idea. Hmm. It doesn't seem too harsh, you are right. If everyone in a team wants a tier one race they can have one, but there is an advantage if a team decides to introduce something a bit weaker. Seems very elegantly balanced. It seems okay, worth giving it a go. I'm not convinced it actually adds much, but I also can't see it ruining anyone's weekend.stick_with_poo_on_the_end wrote:1st draught (sic)
16 points to spend
5 points
Wood Elves
... etc.
Cant see that being to harsh?

If all you want is tier 1 vs tier 1 pure Bloodbowl, then it adds nothing.
But it does add variety and more team working - the sorts of things which made Flamebowl a success. I think it will be popular.

Someone had the idea that if you don't spend all of your tier points, you get whatevers left over as bonus points each round.Joemanji wrote:If everyone in a team wants a tier one race they can have one (sic), but there is an advantage if a team decides to introduce something a bit weaker
e.g
Flame-On takes 2xtier 1, 2xtier 4 (14 tier points) then they get 2 bonus points every round for the team.
That incentivises teams to take lower races, with the bonus of putting extra pressure on the powergaming teams to win every round.
Personally, I think this will balance the whole event very nicely.

Someone = Leon
I like it. Would suggest this...
If a 1 / 0.5 / 0 W/D/L ratio is used, you could give the winning team 0.5 pts if they spent fewer team points than the opposing team.
So GBBL beat Team Lionjaw 2.5 to 1.5 but get 3.0 pts because they spent 15 pts to Lionjaw's 16.
Could it work?

Hmm. I'm not really thrilled by the thoughts of the tournament being decided by an untested bonus points system. It might be fine, but it might turn out that some races in lower tiers are great under the Poo skills set. I'd rather just see vanilla rules and everyone duking it out than racial selections becoming a deciding factor. I tend to think that bonus points reward luck not skill (and luck is already its own reward), and I don't think that would be any different here.

Given that Leon already got badly shafted by a bonus point system.... I'm suprised and impressed he is up for more of that. Lets go with what he says
(then again, I'm proably bias, given my typical race selection)
