I guess it does depend in great part on how you use your Blitzers. If you like them on the line, that changes a lot.

What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.

I use my blitzers as cornerbacks and OLB, giving them Stand Firm, Tackle (and Dodge, if Nuffle wills it) and Guard, Mighty Blow. At least thats my plan.
In my opinion the Human Blitzers rock! And they do that beacuse of their speed and their numbers. 4 of these guys is just awsome!
Well, now its time for my orcs to take on a elf team. See you later.

Re: Human Playbook?
I did a search for Human playbooks and this is all I found are there any other good ones that are relatively up to date.
Also, I want to keep my humans capible of anything, but not overly specialized, what skills do you take to make them competitive and still versitile?

Re: Human Playbook?
I would prefer a MB on my blitzers, then tackle.
Thrower... one for offfence and one for defence
Line? mixture of block and wrestle and some guard hopefully.

Re: Human Playbook?
In my opinion (I just started out so take it how you will, just a different point of view) Id use a st3 catcher as the ball carrier. If you run this fella around with a couple of gaurding blitzers, most teams are going to find it very hard to keep up with you. Then even if they do manage to catch you there gonna have a tough time of it getting even a one die block on your catcher. Couple that with your catcher having blodge it makes it quite hard to get the ball off him. The thing i love most about the catchers is their pure speed. Im lucky in that i rolled a move and aglity boost on one of my catchers. He is that mobile now that he quite literally scores touchdowns for fun haha. Anyway thats just my take. Looking forward to comments to help improve my blood bowl knowledge!

Re: Human Playbook?
Great Theory
What happens when the Blitzers are targeted by the hardest hitters?
I wonder if anyone will try it at the club.
Me, I like the dash about abit.
My plans for the Blitzers were: MB, Tackle, Standfirm... so far I got 3 dodgers and an AG4! Typical, my Human team roles buckets of doubles (IIRC about 6 over a few games) and my WE team are utterly starved of them (ok 3, 2 on throwers).

Re: Human Playbook?
My human team has yet to roll doubles or stat increase at all!
So far
2 Blitzers w/guard
2 blitzers in need of 1spp for roll
2 catchers w/block
1 thrower w/block
1 thrower 2spps away from a roll
1 lino w/ wrestle
2 linos unskilled (one is 1 spp away)
1 brand new ogre (just bought him, started without one)
3 RR
Next game will probably be a spp farming game if I can make it work. But it is against high elves and then can capitalize dropped balls and have more armor (to make injuries tougher).

Haha good question! i tend to use my other players (especially my other catchers) to bound around and help give the blitzers two die blocks again. The catchers tend to be blodgers so though can usually look after themselves, but when they do go down you get a little worried haha.
The dash can definately work for the humans!

Ah that sucks! Like i said i think ive gotten really lucky with my skill rolls so far haha. The skills that youve got so far look good though! I didnt start with an ogre either, youll have to let me know how he goes, as i dont know if its worth purchasing one...I know that the high strength is good, but i like my players to be more mobile, and the ogre doesnt seem to be a reliable enough player for that. I could be wrong though!

Re: Human Playbook?
You can make do without doubles or stat increases. My High Elves have hit the SE threshold with no doubles and only one +stat. They're 10-2-3.

Re: Human Playbook?
three more rolls yesterday after tying a HE opponent and still dry on doubles/stats. So I now have two throwers with block (already had one with block) and a blitzer with Frenzy and mighty blow (he was teh star of the game 2tds, 1 cas, and 1 mvp!).
I like using the throwers as hitters in tandem or near the ball carrier so I have a surehanded fellow to pick up the ball if I can get it loose.
Now I need to get some tacklers for the lizardman team in the league, they are undefeated and I have one more season game with them and they are going to be the team to beat in playoffs.

Re: Human Playbook?
Has anyone tried running a human team with 1 ogre, 4 blitzers, 2 throwers, 4 catchers, and only a lineman or two (if any)?
I really think humans strengths come from skills not stats, I am really not fond of the linemen right now, slowest member of the team, with no starting skills. I find myself wanting them to move more or block with a skill...My team only has 3 games left but I am going to try to buy 2 more catchers to fill it out then maybe cut a couple of linemen that don't have SPPS yet.

Re: Human Playbook?
I have. And when I have some more time, I will post my findings.
In short, if you're going catcher heavy, avoid other human teams at all costs. Damn you eski...

Re: Human Playbook?
I intend to. My present catchers haven't enough skills to move them on to their new roles and therefore I have not bought 2 more catchers. IIRC they are the only 2 players missing from the team.
One Catcher has Diving Catch... the idea of having a 2+ catcher was nice.
Normally I work the line and Blitzers, hold the ball off, the catcher waits just in case we need to go. If time is tight, then lob - catcher - score.
