Block/Wrestle or DP are your choices for doubles.

Is an Halflings roster without treemen viable?

For my part, I rather thought of a truism! :P

It's with this in mind that I was talking about HMP.
HMP is not necessarily seen as a way to score.
HPM allows you to control the ball much more secure. And even if you lead the score, you can retreat into your camp, stall a little ( :pissed: ) and at the last moment, you can get rid of the ball deep into the opponent's court.

Absolutely agree.
Afroman wrote: Sure hand may seem redundant since a fling coach already should have RRs to use. But when attempting the infamous OTTD(not to be confused with Open TTD) you need every RR you can get. Ideally you want a fling with sure hand to pick up the ball and another one with catch and sure feet to fly and score. That way the RR will be available for the pass and the landing.
Yes. But Sure Hand would be in this case the 4th double. And, always in this case, I think I would prefer Pass because mostly, a failed pass is more annoying than a failed pick up.

WHAT? Do you pass with the flings??!!??!?!?

It's like passing with zombies! why would you ever consider that? We are not Khemri!
I say, leave the passing to the trees. At least you are counting on them to be inaccurate.

I can see the point in using one double on wrestle. Wrestle+stunty+dodge should work wonderful together to bring the ball carrier down......
(I just realized that a stripball, wrestle guy almost always guarantees a loose ball!)
... but block on just one or two guys only benefits those one or two guys. whlie Sure hands, kick and DP helps the whole team.

kick is pointless.
hmp is worse than pointless.
Blodge even at ST2 gives you a passable ballcarrier, certainly as much of a benefit to the team as surehands.

There is room for a Kick and Jump Up combo.

Take Jump Up first... the lobbed fling, who fails his AG role but for some miracle is not injured can then Jump up and go as fast as their little legs can carry them. Things like surefeet and sprint will make this speedster a ball diver. Especially on a blitz.

Kick, on another fling will help the above, as the ball goes deep there could be time for the fastest fling in flingdom to get the ball. Suppose, if the kick fling were to get some more skills then Wrestle would be nice otherwise there's them funny skills from the AG list.

BTW you could take a Diving Catcher, anyone who lobs a ball at him (even on a 4+), the little dude can Catch it on a 2+. This may help some of the flings develop.

Go Crazy with a pair of leaping Pass Blockers and give them catch. Seen the amusement as you ready them to 'intercept' that throw.

We used to play 3rd without stars. The reigning champ had to play Halflings.

Ah, 14 flings, two trees and a chef, plus however many re-rolls I can fit in. Hardcore. At the NAF Championship. Oh Yes.

Have you used this set-up before in tournaments Ulthuan? I like the look of this and am thinking of using 'Flngs as a tourney team and my Nurgle in league games. Not sure if I can handle the 'enjoyment' that I think would come with a ten or so game leauge with the little fella's!

There is some good stuff in this thread:

Halfling team. (Noob)

It's based on LRB5 Halflings but most of Galak's Playbook is still valid.
