Berserker with diving tackle

Post by narg »

I recently got two doubles on a rookie berserker, I gave him dodge as first skill and diving tackle as second skill, as I thought it would be a great combo with blodge, jump up and frenzy (to position him in annoying places). At the time I was happy with the skill choice but now I'm having second thoughts - do you think it's a good skill selection or that I would have been better off with the classic mighty blow - piling on?
The other berserker already has guard - mighty blow - piling on by the way...

For his future development I was thinking about tackle and stand firm to specialize him in "road block", or just mighty blow and piling on to go back the normal way...

I'd have probably gone dodge then sidestep - that way you can frenzy near the sidelines with near impunity! :)

Standfirm then Tackle is the route to go now though. Blodge/SF is nasty too.

Dodge is a good choice as it helps keep your 90K AV7 foul magnet alive. I have mixed feelings about DT as you will need it at higher TV’s to keep elves in check but it is usually better on linemen or other fodder. It does combine well with Jump Up as going prone is less of an issue.

There are not many other good doubles choices for him really, Sidestep is nice as it makes him very hard to surf back and he can even set up a counter surf, it also is great with Guard.

I don’t think those are bad skill choices, the issue is if they are a better use of TV than 3 of Guard, MB, PO and tackle. As you already have a guard, MB, PO guy you can be our guinea pig, play a few games and see who is the most useful. ;)

I love it. SF then T and it's a terrific piece (more of a terrific piece than it is, I should say)

First Side Step (no brainer!) and Sure Feed or boring MB, then Tackle and he is a solid good piece..

hmm sounds like a nice default Troll Slayer build

Side Step and Sure feet are more doubles skills.
