new skill for a we lineman???
hello,
first of all, i play in a league which use the 3rd ed rules. I rolled a double for a lineman and i don't know what to choose. I thought about guard, accurate or strong arm.
I have a team with 2 wardancer, 1 receiver and rest of linemen.
I have 2 linemen with block, guard
1 lineman with block
1 lineman with leader
What do you think about that?
Thanks for your help.
Yann

I wouldnt take pass, strong arm or accurate, you can still acquire two throwers, they should get the passing skills.
And your Ag4 guys can handle that odd pass you have to take.
Guard is a good choice, combined with leap you can hop in and assist your wardancer in cagebreaking.
Or you take Mighty Blow, take block next and you have someone that can also dish out. Might surprise your opposition
Maybe you want to take dump-off. That will always surprise your opponent and waste his blitz action. Just make sure, you have a fellow elf nearby.

Since you already have two Guards, how about a bit of variety... what about Mighty Blow? (Give him Block as his next skill.)
Save the passing skills for your thrower when you get one. (I was about to suggest Dauntless... then I realized you are playing 3e, not the latest version so can take that on a normal skill roll.)

I would take guard, as you already have some players with that skill it gives you a really strong line of scrimmage and/or cage breakers. I find that having one player with guard is good, especially for a elf team, but they do tend to get singled out for some real punishment. Having several opens your options up ten-fold.
Go with guard, you won't regret taking it

Did you consider Dauntless? One big weakness of the WE's is their lack of strength. Dauntless will be invaluable against big guys and star players. If those aren't considerations in your league, Guard is a good choice.

I couldn't begin to answer that without knowing a lot more about your playstyle and league. If you have a lot of strength and casualty causing teams I'd suggest you think about it. Having only one guy with a skill you really need for a game means he will be targeted. Having two guys with that skill makes a big difference.

i play in a league of 8 teams:
WE (mine), DarkElves, HighElves,Orcs,Undead,Chaos,Chaos dwarves and Dwarves so it's a league with strong teams.
I have a good defence but not a good offense because i think that i'am not playing enougth agressive. The fact is that i had never used dauntless yet!

Players with 4+ strength are great to put in an opposing player's tackle zones becasue the opposition is left with a problem. Do you dodge away or move more people over to assist the block? If you assist, you have move people over to help out, and it gives your opponent a temprorary man advantage on the pitch. If you dodge, there's the ever present chance that you will roll a "1".
Dauntless gives you a third option, to block or blitz the player off and keep from losing that man advantage. Needless to say, if a high Str. Bull Centaur or a star player like Count Luthor is the ballcarrier, it becomes even more important.
Three guards on an Elf team is nothing to laugh at either, and would probably give you an edge over the Dark Elves and the High Elves. Either skill is probably going to do well for you, so pick the one you think fits your playstyle best.

Re: new skill for a we lineman???
I would probably take guard just to have 3 line elves with guard that I can put on the line to protect each other. It all depends on what the line elf already has in terms of skills. I definitely would not choose passing options, that's what your throwers are for. I would probably go with guard, just because I've seen first hand what a line with guard can accomplish.
