I'd forgotten you did those awesome humans, kudos...

the Orcs will be great no matter how you handle it.. I freely admit I stole the 40K boyz converted to BB concept from Squiggoth, who was an awesome painter/converter from Holland. His team was called Pritty Senzless Violenz and painted to look like the Dutch soccer team PSV with red and white stripes. He diappeared from the scene around 7 years ago sadly, but his work was stunning. Do a search for his posts and you'll see some lovely work..

First things first. I didn't like the left arm on this lino so I changed it. Now it looks like he's blocking a punch and getting ready to make a big swing of his own. Much better I think. I bit different though. Thoughts?

I did a little more conversion work on these guys. Particularly with the arms. We've got 1 going for the grabbing take down and 2 giving a Tae-Bo style punch to the solar plexis:

These dudes are a little more static. I went for the more imposing look. I imagine 3 as standing mid-field and trash talking endlessly:

The SM shoulerpads look too clean. I recommend you use some plasticard to spike them up a bit, and make them more round.

Here are my blitzers, who had a strip of card added to the shoulderpad, and some had spikes on top of that too. As you can see it makes the pad look a bit rounder, and in my oppinion, makes it look a little less Space Marine.

Where are those legs from?

The legs are regular Ork Boyz legs, cut at the groin and repositioned.

Also is this too early to call the SM shoulderpads with the extra strip "Piousman pattern shoulder pads"

As I've decided to take part in inkpwn's golden football monthly painting competition in order to get this team finished and painted, I converted this Ugroth Bolgrot for the Secret Weapon submission of Novemeber. It will also double nicely as a normal lineman with the chainsaw special play card if it is ever drawn. Here is the Rear View.

I have also been quietly assembling throwers, a Troll, and a gobbo that I will be showing off eventually along with updated pics of the blitzers with the spiked up shoulder pads.

I've finally completed the conversions on the minis for the team. I've still got work to do on sideline figures but those are secondary in my opinion and can be gotten to in time. As I stated in my last post I will be painting this team as part of inkpwn's monthly golden football painting challenge.

Okay, first off we have the blitzers with new "spiky" shoulder pads. I think the conversion turned out fair, but overall I definitely think they look more fitting with the team. Thanks for the advise guys.

Here are the Throwers.

I totally knicked Traveller's idea from his converted Orc team from back in the day and used and old tankbuster model for the "passing" thrower. I'm not much of a fan of actually throwing with Orcs but I like the pose. The second thrower is converted to look more like a runner. Of the two I'm more partial to the runner. Here is a rear view.

And now...drum roll please...the Troll.

I fully converted this bad boy from three different sets of trolls.
I started with the original Neomics troll for the body. I was not a fan of the head or spindly arms and feet though, so I swapped a bunch of stuff. I used the GW Ripper model for the head (it more of what I think a troll head should look like) and feet exchange. And then I went with some big, beefy GW plastic River troll arms. I pulled a few Terminator shoulder pads out of the bits box to give him some more weight up top and then polished him off with a few odds and ends here and there to achieve the look I wanted. Overall I'm very pleased with the way this one turned out and I hope next month will be big guys in the painting challenge so I can get started on him.

Just to finish off the final showcase of the conversion process, I've added this group shot of a select few from the team to show how they are starting to look together.

Alright. The team will be called the Kannibal City Cheefz and themed accordingly.

I am admittedly not the worlds best painter, but I think hold my own. I've been taking my time on this and I expect some good competition in the painting challenge. So to inspire everyone into doing their best work (which it shouldn't be hard to beat me anyway based on some of the stuff I see around here) I've posted a teaser of how my entry is coming along.

After receiving no votes in November's Golden Football Challenge I have decided I need to get some feed back on the mini I painted. Here it is for those of you that haven't seen it yet:

Now just to clarify a few things.

1- My feelings aren't hurt from not getting any votes. There were some really nice submissions from some really talented painters. The problem is that I am still left wondering about what level my abilities are on, so I just want to get a feeling for how others in the community would grade my work.

2- I'm not digging for compliments or looking for a ball busting review. Just a simple grade based on a standard A to F scale. I have put a poll at the top of this page. EDIT - I tried to put a poll at the top of this page but it completely glitched out on me.

Please vote using the following standard. I would consider an 'A+' to be masterclass work and I don't expect to see any of these (unless you're really just feeling generous). Consider a 'C' as "A good gaming standard."

I appreciate your time in voting and if you feel like posting constructive criticism it is appreciated.
