Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!
update: Well the game is over and in the end it was a draw with both teams scoring two touchdowns and losing two SIs (one death and one niggler each oddly enough). A big thanks to all the advice people gave me - especially the tactics neoliminal gave me and everyone who told me to buy my new re-roll. I really needed it.
In conclusion the game was a lot more bashy than I would have liked but I got off reasonably easy. As predicted my Rat Ogre caused me all my problems - I rolled double skulls twice in the first half! But otherwise I got off pretty lucky and a change of weather in the second half which took 4 dwarfs off the line in the opening drive certainly helped.
On offense, you should do what Skaven do best, score. Do it as quickly as you can safely do it. The hard part for you will not be offense, it will be defense.
I would seek to disagree with the first part of this point. If you score quickly on your drive you will hand the Dwarf coach 7 or 6 turns to drive a cage at you and score. This is fairly easy to do even for the slow Dwarf team. If instead you take say 4 turns to score then you give him only 5 or so turns to score back on you.
Yeah, play to your strengths. Hit them hard and fast in the backfield and turn them over. Get your 4 TDs in. It's what being a skav coach is all about.
