My first team - scratch built Orcs

Post by Hegel »

I just starting playing Blood Bowl recently. Used to play Warhammer Fantasy Battles before, but with the latest edition I somehow lost interest. Too many miniatures to paint, very long games, and personal time constraints due to family and job more or less stopped me playing. Then a friend found an old Blood Bowl box and we gave it a try...

I always liked painting and a little bit of conversion (although I´m far away from being good at either of those taks...), so I decided to build an Orc team from bitz and pieces I found in my fantasy orc boxes. Not very spectacular, and I guess there are much better minis around from several manufacturers, but I like it.

The team´s still in WIP state, and I´ll post a team picture as soon as they are more or less finished.

This is the first one, where I tested the colour scheme :

These are my Blitzers, and two line orcs (on the second pic):

Here comes my first BOB:

I think they look good to great! Love the skin color and effects... not complicated... but neither are Orcs.... I would suggest something on the Blorcs to break up the huge field of orange effect....

Stripes on the Helmet ant shoulderpads would be my suggestion. White/Black/White

If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.

Some more pics, first my BOBs :

And this is how the team looks currently :

Two line orks missing (wip). Bases still need some work, static grass... and the thrower needs a ball, but I´m out of greenstuff.

Looking great. Nice color scheme and I especially like just how easy it is to tell the positions apart.
