Hail Mary Pass to avoid fumble?
Can I declare a pass action, measure range, (lets just say no INT attempts available) see the result, then change to Hail Mary Pass?
Ex long bomb -2 to pass, 1-3 is fumble, if I roll a 3 can I use Hail Mary Pass to make it just inaccurate?
The rules appear to be gray hear. (summaries below)
Pg 14: Unless stated otherwise skill use is optional and may be applied after seeing the dice results.
Hail Mary Pass: does not say in place of a pass action or declare before pass
Passing sequence in FAQ doesn't reference Hail Mary Pass at all.
I would imagine the answer is no, or at least no after allowing an interception attempt, but was just curious.

I'd say no because HMP states you don't use the range ruler, and no interception is possible.

Re: Hail Mary Pass to avoid fumble?
found the answer
in skill use #5 "affects the die roll" HMP does not
it affects the outcome but not the roll itself (Aka DT affects the die roll by -2, Dodge affects the die roll by re-rolling it)

By that logic, both block, dodge and wrestle would need to be declared before rolling the block dice, as they affect the result and not the roll.

You've got to roll for interception before making the pass attempt. Since HMP can't be intercepted you must declare it before the point at which your opponent would be able to intercept.

Block and Wrestle from specific statements in the skill description, and in the both down results it specifically states how the skill is usedfe2mike wrote:By that logic, both block, dodge and wrestle would need to be declared before rolling the block dice, as they affect the result and not the roll.
Dodge does not effect the die results from a dodge and and in the Defender Stumbles results it specifically states how the skill is used
HMP does not specifically indicates such a thing

That makes sense, thanks
