doubles skill on AG4 Beastman?
Title says it all. I've got a beastman that rolled an AG boost for the first skill. Second skill is double 2s. What do you think?
Dodge was my initial thought, but I am now considering leap. Dodge would make him a scorer and leap would make him a cage-threat on defense (with some situational benefits on offense).

Dodge works in your turn and the opponent's. It is also a re-roll skill, giving you (in normal circumstances) a 2+ chance of success, with re-roll. It is thus the safe choice. You can add 2-Heads later for enhanced cage-breaking potential. You can instead add Block/S-Hands for a very good ball carrier. Dodge seems to work best if you give it to lots of players on the team.
Leap is higher risk, but is a more sexy choice, especially if you enhance it with VLL. You can add Wrestle/Tackle for one of the ultimate cage-breakers in the game, rather difficult to defend against. But that's a lot of skills, and it leaves the player less protected than Dodge.
Hope that helps.

Give him Dodge followed by Block and Surehands. Chaos don't want or need to leap into cages.

Dodge if you want the best option, leap if you want the most fun option. With horns you will almost always have two dice on ball carrier and will be hard to defend.

Everyone wants to leap into cages, most just aren't very good at it!Jimmy Fantastic wrote:Give him Dodge followed by Block and Surehands. Chaos don't want or need to leap into cages.

Dodge is effective right away and makes the beastman much better as a ball carrier. Good ball carriers turn good chaos teams into great.

Thanks all. I'm leaning towards dodge - I'm in a bashy league so cages are going to have lots of guard to negate my horns.
Hard to resist the urge to play some elf-ball though.

Yep, it is easily the best option.Genghis wrote:It's boring, but Dodge.
Mind you I could see a fun converted Chaos Slann team that took leap as 1st skill on doubles and then vll. Make it a horned toad team.

Pass
New dynamic for the team.
or
Leader... a very cheap reroll for the team.

NOS? just as a thought makes for a great scorer and in the end it's TD's that win a game

Dodge.
He'll have the ball most of the time for you, and dodge will let him get free when your cage gets stopped in addition to adding protection in the cage from leapers.
