WYRD Skaven Gaspez Arts Blood Bowl Team

Post by Aflo »

Hey everyone, thought I'd share pictures of my skaven team. Manufactured by Gaspez Arts (and bought before they went all silly I hasten to add) but with a converted Island of Blood rat ogre, I tried a grittier style than what I usually do with the focus on the object light sourcing. The bases were sculpted in milliput and treated with water effect to give the impression of a nice dirty quagmire...

You might notice the rat ogre is sporting the head of an unfortunate ogre on his spike...and a Bengal gut plate on his base. Big Yan from the Bayernhoff Bengals (modelling my avatar very fetchingly)? Could be, could be :)

I have acually put these guys up for sale to try and scrape a bit more dollar for my upcoming 4 months backpacking around Asia (leaving on the first of May...exciting stuff). The link's hire in case you might be interested in taking a shot at them!

Any comments, questions or criticisms are welcome, hope you enjoy.

Cheers,

Adam

Cool warpstone effect. Now, if you could get that to glow under a blacklight or somesuch, that would really be something...

a friend of mine did that. he mixed a little bit of glow in the dark glue into his paint. he said it worked perfectly. unfortunately I never saw the models in the dark. I only see him at the occasional tournament.

I don't like these models at all, but you've done some very nice things with them.

That warpstone effect is unbelieveably great! The balance between the lighting and the "grittiness" of the rest of the paint job is spot on. Great job :)

I've just noticed I didn't include an individual shot of the painted rat ogre in my opening post - just ammended it now.

@Lunchab1es: Ha, that it would. Might be a bit tricky playing blood bowl in the dark unless everything's glowing which isn't too far from playing in the light barring the fact you can't see your opponent...come to think of it I'm warming to the idea :wink:

@Da Crusha: Cheers! Very cool, I can see him in my mind's eye cupping his hands round them at tournies saying 'See! See, they *do* glow in the dark!'.

@Lard: Thanks mate.

@Dr. Von Richten: Thanks. Heh, the lighting *is* the paintjob, really, I'm making no bones about it :)

@Gaixo: Cheers Gaixo. I was a bit disappointed by how the faces looked when I got them to be honest but they are cool little figs, alot of character.

@nurglerot: Thank you, that was exactly what I was going for so nice to hear!
