40mm Custom Board for Eucalyptus Bowl

Thanks to Griffin Grove Gaming I have a 40mm Hirst Arts board as a prize for Eucalyptus Bowl which I'm going to build into a portable box complete with dugouts and tracks.

Here is my first WIP, with the box assembled and the actual board being glued in place.



Next step will be to paint the whole thing black (including the tiles) and then paint up the tiles to a stone texture. The dugouts and tracks are going to be mounted on MDF boards and there will be a felt space for rolling dice and also cup holders ;D

I'll post more updates as I go but I'm not going to be doing a step-by-step for this one because most of the techniques are going to be covered in the DIY article I did for the next Blitz issue (with a big thanks to Impact Miniatures for donating the felt mat). Here is a sneak peak of the board I made for that, which will be raffled off at Eucalyptus Bowl. That issue should be out HOPEFULLY later this week.



I will happily post up dimensions and necessary files etc once I'm done, for anyone who would like to make something similar for themselves down the line.

after seeing some of your last pitches I have been wanting to make a pitch of my own and now you are ready to spit out another one! my procrastination has really gotten the best of me. I will begin soon!

Here is the last issue of Blitz, the next one is due out any day now. And in the new one I've got a detailed set of instructions on how to make a pitch like the one in my little teaser shot there, perfect for a first time board builder

Here's an update, the board is now painted and I've done the dugouts/tracks (see the Blitz article if you want to know how these were made). The green felt is for dice cups/rolled dice, and the other side has a foldable drink holder.



And here is a close up showing the three types of tiles used to depict the different zones. I will be painting while lines to depict the zones and LoS but won't be doing individual +'s for each square as the tiles make it clear enough. I've also got to do one more light white drybrush to give it a bit more depth, my normal paint for this was totally dried up when I got it out of the cupboard
