I prefer a size ST4 mummy - but what is size ST4?? There's been so much size creep over the years, that it's really difficult to define "size" these days - so allow me to elaborate...

I prefer and almost solely use GW 2nd ed minis. Therefore a 2nd ed human lineman represents the archtype of a size ST3.
However(!), the 2nd ed minis didn't really represent size ST4 on any minis. All the chaos minis were standard human size and the orc blockers were same size as the orc blitzers.

So(!), to me a miniature like the 3rd ed Lord Borak is a good size ST4 when compared to my 2nd ed size ST3. Lord Borak is approximately the same size as Ramtut III who is therefore an excellent sized mummy for me. :orc:

The problem for me with the human sized mummy is that I never much understood the fascination for wanting "realistic" things in a fantasy game. Big, scary, menacing mummies say, "stay away from me fool. I'm ST5!"

And I'm honestly a little shocked that there aren't more people voting that this poll is stupid and that I'm an idiot. :D

Agree. However, it just looks stupid with troll sized mummies IMO.

:-? How long have you been waiting to bust in with that one Ken?

Anyway....

ST4 sized Mummies seems to be winning the poll right now. HOWEVER, if you add the top two categories together you find the majority (50%) prefer larger than ST4 sized mummies. A third want them to look right at ST4 (33%), so 83% want them to look ST4 or larger. 8% don't care and think I'm an idiot, a number which seems like it should be higher. :P

8% for ST3 sized Mummies is the surprising one for me. I actually expected this number to be somewhere around 1% or less. In the grand scheme of things 8% is still low, but I just expected it to be a lot lower. My theory is that 7% of the people that voted in this category are actually the 7% that's missing from the "who cares, you're an idiot" categroy and they're just more spiteful and trying mess up my poll. :D

I like mine to be big, it's ST5 so it should look intimidating on the pitch.

Goblin Forge mummies, Mimo Tepp and Mimo Lett are really nice figures, best mummies I've seen. I use them in my deadlings team here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=36012&hilit=titans

I chose ST 4 because the next choice seemed to indicate something smaller/weaker looking than a lineman. I generally think that mummies and tomb guardians get their higher strength from magical means than by mass, so I'm cool with them being around the same size as the rest of "normal" members of the team.

I just finished a non-Khemri Khemri team recently and all of the players are pretty close to the same size, though easily identifiable as being different by role.

It's a big guy... in my mind, they need to be bigger than a S3 piece. I can settle for a S4 equivalent since there are four of them (and that's a lot of model mass on the pitch), but ideally they really should be at least strength 4.5-5 for me to be happy with them.

It kind of ruins the effect for me to have a supposed strength 5 piece looking eye-to-eye with Joe Schmoe the lineman. Show your strength with pride!

i like them in the st4 range. mean to say, mummies are magical, thats where they get their strength. so they don't need to be big like an ogre.

What is all of this talk about mummies having magical properties? Are they not just undead corpses like zombies and skeletons? That's what I always thought anyway.

Probably partly DnD for me as well but I also see mummies being like vampires, made from 'normal' humans and it's the type of undead they are that makes them strong.

It's ogre zombies that get a high strength from size
