It's not the size of your Mummy...it's how you use it.

How BIG do you like your mummies to be modeled?

They are ST5 and therefore should look ST5

Anyone arguing that size indicates size has a thin arguement. Vampires are no bigger than a human yet are stronger. A lot of Human and Elf star players with ST4 are no bigger again (Griff, Prince Moranion, Hubris etc...). Their strength comes from skill not size. It can be argued that a mummies size is irrelevant when it is magically enhanced strength.

Anyhow, as far as I am concerned, as long as it looks like a mummy (or tomb guardian) then all the power to you

I'd say that's a rather strong argument... :P

I'll second that. In a game with no Weapon Skill value, Strength values could represent any number of factors.

@fanglord13 - even the GW vampires are slightly taller and bulkier than their thrall counterparts. It's subtle, but it's there. I view starplayers as more the exception than the rule, but I do concede that strength can, at times, not be represented at all by size. I just don't think that that is, or should be, the status quo but rather the exception.

While I agree that size does not equal strength 100% of the time, a higher strength does normally correlate with a larger model.

Beyond the strength = size argument, I think it has a huge gameplay function. It is just much more convenient to me if it is clear that the bigger guys on my opponents team are the ones with higher strength. It can be tedious to sort throw a cluster of models to try and figure out who is who, because his troll, black orcs, and blitzers are all the same size.

I would maybe add that a difference in 1 point of strength gets more leeway in the models having similar size. Especially when you consider stuff like strength boosts... your player didn't necessarily just add 30 pounds of muscle, but maybe has developed better techniques for tackling opponents or keeping his feet against an opponent tackling him. When you get to 2 points different... I dunno, I just really feel like there should be a significant visual difference to reflect that. I think a mummy should stand apart from a skeleton, even if some of its strength is due to "magic".

I would be perfectly happy with a model of a mummy if it was taller than a black orc. It doesn't need to tower above it, but it would seem very weird to me if it were smaller.

I'll second what lunchab1es said. That's very similar to my own feelings. It's very subjective because it's a preference.
