Good - glad I could please you (sounds very pathetic doesn't it? ;) )

It was a heart-stopping moment when I dropped it, but luckily there was no permanent damage. I'm forever doing it, as well as dropping the tiny piece I'm just about to glue somewhere only to have it disappear onto the floor forever. Must start modelling everything on the ground in a great big padded tray :)

:)

Don't beat yourself over it.
It happens to all, specially when we reeeeally don't want it to.

It helps if you're seated properly, with a table or some large plain surface under.
I sometimes use a small layer of foam right under the mini, when I'm painting it and I don't want to hold it too strong or can't get a good grip.

Great paint job by the way!
Cheers!
A.

Hi guys, I took a little breather from the team over the last 3 weeks or so, but I had some concerted effort over the last few evenings to paint up two more figures. I'm now at 7 completed, 2 base-coated, 3 undercoated and tokens / base built. Something like 37 days left to NAF? Plenty of time :)

First up is another Zombie to add to the pair already painted. This chap was my favourite of all the Zombies because of the cool helmet :)

Image

Next is the 2nd Werewolf. The grey seems to work much better and I'm really pleased at how natural the ball arm looks. I did try his muzzle and ears painted a fleshy tone, but he looked too much like a Skaven so they're back as grey.

Image

Next up are the Flesh Golem and first Wight, currently mid paint job!

Getting some momentum now! Two more players completed:

I'm really happy at how the Flesh Golem turned out from a coherency of model aspect - he looks suitably mean, hulking and a bit stupid too :)

And the team to date:

So, another zombie and a 2nd wight gives me a playable team. Yet another zombie gives me all the players I need for NAF, which should just leave me with the coach, re-rolls and base :)

I just searched your thread to find out where you got the fantastic golem, unfortunately I was dissapointed to find out it was a conversion. At least I know how to make a cool looking one, thanks! I have always been a fan of the frankenstein looking golems.

Yeah, he's a conversion - mainly because I wanted something with a bit more bulk than the available models provide (and it has to be GW for the NAF tournament). It was a bit of a pain removing the ogre's legs (mainly because of the arm position), but otherwise it was fairly straightforward.

Thanks :) I'm pleased with how they're coming out. It would be nice if they were given a really top notch paint scheme, but I'm enjoying painting them and I don't think they're turning out too badly ;)

Slowly and steadily I'm getting things done. There's now just over 2 weeks to go; since the last update I've completed construction on the display base and undercoated it, as well as the re-rolls and coach. I've also base-coated the 3 remaining figures and gloss varnished the 9 fully painted figures.

Here's where things are currently at:

Image

Still to do:
- Finish painting, base and gloss varnish 1 x wight, 2 x zombies
- Paint, base and gloss varnish coach and 3 x re-rolls
- Matt varnish whole squad, coach and re-rolls
- Paint, flock and varnish display base

Plenty still to do, and I'm working so slowly that a friend of mine also going to NAF who only started his Underworld team about a fortnight ago has now caught up with me in terms of models assembled and painted! :)

Normally I'd undercoat black, but I want the ground to match the player's bases (white undercoat, scorched brown, devlan mud, drybrush with a khaki colour) and trialling the same over a black undercoat didn't give the same result...so white it is ;)

Nice conversions. Really loving the 1st ed feel and the artwork is great. Can I suggest you make a chainsaw player before you finish as that really reminds me of 1st ed.
