For me 2nd ed Elves are still the only aesthetic option when it comes to Pro Elves (and Wood Elves for that matter). I haven't yet seen an alternative that hits the spot in terms of design and quality of sculpting. But then again, I often say that about anything where Jes Goodwin sculpted an earlier (and nearly always better) version.
Jes Goodwin rules/ruled! :D

Apparently he lives in Essex with his wife and two kids. Maybe we should search Essex and question him? ;)

I think we made a very good Timberline Elf team that has realistic females. Sadly, they haven't sold as well as we thought they would.

I got the Timberline elf team and I'm happy with them. They're not as pornish as most of the female teams. Don't think the Timberline team would work as Pro Elves though, and that's what the OP's looking for.

How about the Neomics Elf Team? I think they would work well as Pro Elves. I wasn't able to find a decent picture of them, but you can check them out on Impact!'s website or just google them.

I know he was the main driving force behind the amazing new dark eldar range. I’m hoping they let him loose on the normal eldar army as they are long overdue a revamp.

Plus much like the 2nd edition elf BB team some of his old Eldar models like the original aspect warriors are still better than the new ones.

Agreed. I still shudder everytime I see a pic of (Juan?) Diaz's "goofy" Striking Scorpions (though the paintjob didn't help them any).

One of my favourite Granny books is the sketchbook one of his - some stunning figs there that never made it.

(And sorry for taking this OT.)

Hopefully the next GDF team will be the Shadow Elves:

We just have this and one wardancer WIP. We will have a sort of general elf team that could be used as any elf team.

And I agree with this. Although most of female teams are beatiful sculpts, some of them lack the "bloodbowl" flavour. I always try to get not only an original image from my teams, but also to see the models dressed like a Bloodbowl player should wear to play Bloodbowl.

My god this completely. I have picked upa few impact models and are trying to mix and match norse/valkries and humans/girlie humans but they aren't matching well. Would love a few female players.

In fact if a company could sculpt blood bowl looking female replacements for missing 3rd edition GW positions I guarenty I will buy them!

Top of list would be int he same armour style as 3rd ed a blitzer, thrower and 2 catchers for humans.

Anybody else go for this?

I confese to not checking out the elf teams on offer, never liked elves much!

Looking at the timberline ones they are good female sculpts. I would prefer some armour on them though. And for them not to be elves!

I bought some...will eventually get around to buying more, though I don't want to mix elves and Dryads, which makes things trickier.

I actually purchased one of the timberline catchers precisely because it was much more realistic/less nekked than the typical female elf.

The sculpts on the Timberline Elves are of a decent standard and I wouldn't expect anything less from Impact! My issue with that team is that it's a little too feral looking, which is great if that's what you're going for as a theme for your team. However, I don't really see elves as "feral". Even wood elves should look a little more elegant (generally speaking of course).

If I knew someone that was doing a "lost boys from Neverland Island" looking theme for their team I would not hesitate to point them to to the Impact! Timberline range. But if you're just looking for a standard wood elf....eeeehhhhhh....probably not so much.

Disclaimer - this is not intended to be insulting, they're just not my cup of tea. :P

No insult ... we meant them to be more feral and since you think we succeeded but they don't work for you ... I see it still as all good.

Said it many times ... I hope to never tell anyone how they should think. ;-) (or than my 15 year son who has gone so far off the deep end that I'm wondering if there are any home brainwashing kits on Amazon)
