I find the market for models to be irritating
What's up with different retailers not carrying full lines of other manufacturers models? I will have to order from four places this go round. Franarcilla obviously dont sell at anyones place but his, Impact dont sell a full Mano Di Porco lineup, Cominixinos not a full Gaspez or Willy, amongst many other examples i'm sure.
Not to talk about when stocks go out on a regular basis.

I think it's probably because the markets not really big enough to encourage competition. Exclusivity seems to maximise the limited profit on strong sculpts whereas selling in multiple places seems to minimise the losses from less strong sculpts.
Of course I could be completely wrong.

yeah, I wish I could buy Adidas sneakers from my local Nike store too.. isn't it inconvenient when companies try to maintain some brand equity...

Well the biggest reason is two fold:theghr wrote:What's up with different retailers not carrying full lines of other manufacturers models?
1) Minimum order size. When Willy comes out with new items ... we plan on picking them up to carry their full line but my minimum order is 1000 Euros ... I don't come up with that much spare cash on a daily basis.
2) Timing ... it takes several weeks for the order to come once ordered.

I agree with the Galak and Norse. When manufacturers sell their products to other retailers, they have to do it at a lower price than when they sell to the consumer directly and the retailers that buy it have to do so in bulk in order to make it worthwhile. Sometimes these factors mean that it isn't worthwhile at all.
The online stores don't have to stock what you want them to stock, they have to stock what works well for them.

Maybe you're completely right. But maybe a customer buy from another manufacturer instead when ordering from a retailer, instead of taking multiple shipping costs. Say that Fran looses some business this way. I for one wont order from four seller this time after all, but only two or maybe three. Either way, i guess it is what it is.fitch-face wrote:I agree with the Galak and Norse. Re: I find the market for models to be irritating
It is our goal to try to carry everything. Some sellers have so far declined to sell to us (both Fran and Gaspez). So we try but to stock everything from a company is very expensive and is a slow process ... too expensive to just make happen overnight.
However by end of month ... we should have all the major FF items from Shadowforge in our store. So we are working on it. I sent emails to Uscarl as well ... but never received a response to that.

Hey Tom...did you happen to notice that you are now referred to as 'THE' Galak. I think this might mean that you've reached some new level of general excellence.fitch-face wrote:I agree with the Galak and Norse.

Haha sorry Tom, I've noticed the Impact team etc. are generally referred to by first names on here but I'm still learning who's who

Weird... I sent a query to Uscarl via facebook yesterday and received a very friendly and helpful responce within the hour :S I know they're very busy at the minute and mine was just a quick question, I guess.GalakStarscraper wrote:I sent emails to Uscarl as well ... but never received a response to that.

It will all be so different in a couple of years with 3D printers, I'm sure if Galak had a spare $15,000 dollars lying around he would already be considering this.
Thems the future.

We've already been over this garion. Galak shouldn't be shooting for 3D printer, he should be looking into developing hologram gaming technologies.

Wow! Small soft porn ladies running around and bending over to pick up the ball. I really hope Heresy will give their Ogres some pants before all this happens.burgun824 wrote:We've already been over this garion.
