Looking for Vampire models

Post by Brunificus »

I'm thinking about starting a Vampire team for my local league next season. I really don't like the look of the GW vamps, but can't seem to find anything else either. The GW Thralls are ok I suppose, can anyone point me in the direction of something better ?

Gaspez arts in my opinion are the best Vamps, otherwise you could try Reaper mini's, as they have some good models.

Impact has...

Lord Dorian the Lost

and the Spike 2011 Vampire.
We're still waiting on a good picture of it painted but it's a good sculpt.

I have seen lord Dorian in the flesh as it were and it is indeed lovely. Skorne runners are nice (Warmachine)Thralls are harder. I have bought some circle orobus bloodletters (I think they are called) but am not completely convinced.

If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.

I also like the Skorne bloodrunners but I have no idea what to use for thralls. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Nice indeed. Skorne Swordmen look good too, for a more Nosferatu look.

Tharn Bloodweavers or Tharn Bloodtrackers? No "letters". :-?

Venator Slingers also look usable, that kneeling pose... "yes, master, bite me". :orc:

But, for all of the above, how easy or hard is to get rid of the weapons? Or what kind difficulty for making full conversions, as some units include a model 2-3 times? Do they come split in many parts?

Thanks for the advice guys. Strangely I'm not sold on the Gaspez models because I usually really like his teams but not this time. Lord Dorian looks good but the spike 2011 model looks horrible but that maybe a painting/photo issue. Going to look at Warmahordes and Reaper stuff stuff now. Thanks again.

The Spike Vampire is first on my list to be painted. The image we have doesn't do it any justice.

I use the Impact Black Widows as my Thralls. Afterall, if I was a vampire I would rather bite a woman's neck than a guys...

I'm toying with the idea of doubling my amazons (based on wyches conversions) as thralls and adding 6 vampires... themselves a combo of ghoul heads with a bulkier body, perhaps avatars of war's chaos troops or warriors from the GW range

Just received these so I wanted to post them. Painted by Pitch Invader (aka Laughing Ferret Studio). The Spike 2011 Duke Luthor
