Best team for a league of noobs?
There is a league starting where I live with lots of new players involved, ran by people who don't have a clue.
They won't let me go easy on them with Underworld so should I take a bashy team and kill all mens or an agility team and win every game 5-0?
I would like to use a plastic team so Wood Elfs or Orcs are the favourites, any other team I don't think would be worth getting chipped to school these fools.

How likely are they to stay playing if they start losing players? If they're likely to give up then go WE, otherwise go to town and give them some green love

How do you mean "won't let you go easy"?
Are all races barring T1 races banned?

Underworld/Slann/Pact are banned.
I was going to use Underworld for a laugh but seeing as I am not allowed it's Orcs or WE I think, as they are my other plastic teams.

Heh, well, if you don't feel like a challenge, then easymo...Orcs are ideal. I think new players are less likely to get demoralised by being 2-1 ground than thrashed 5-0 every game.

Interesting post Hito.
I had a guy flip the board once as he was getting stalled and fouled to pitch clear.
I think the question should have been "are new players likely to get more demoralised by being 2-1 ground than thrashed 5-0 every game?".
In my experience I have done both, and no-one was very happy lol.

If they are that bad then go Bashy Wood elves. A couple of frenzied wardancers leaping everywhere and surfing half their team should be fun. Pray for doubles and ignore guard over MB and then PO. Elves can be very bashy if they use their mobility to gang up on half the other team.
Either that or take Orcs with some goblins as catchers and 2 throwers and kill all mens and beat em 3-0.

Get a chaos team, so you can kill all mens but will not be running away with things to start with. And then as they start to improve, your team will still be better than theirs
Or, play as orcs, but go with an alternative roster (such as 4 goblins and no linemen) to give yourself a laugh at the same time.

Of the two choices WE's if you want to be a little easier on them. You won't destroy as much of their team as you would with Orcs. However, I don't see why you couldn't just dominate them with gobbos or flings. Noobs are pretty easy to beat barring bad dices.
However, there is always the other mentallity that you should show them no mercy and let them be brought up through fire. In other words...
KILL ALL MENS!!!

So the teams you could play are only Orcs, WE, or UNderworld?Jimmy Fantastic wrote:Underworld/Slann/Pact are banned.

What about those other non-tier1s? Vamps? Gobbos? Flings?
Or baring that you could pick a poor starting team like Chaos or Nurgle, or even a generally poor T1 team like Humans?

Yes, I only want to use a plastic team so as to not to get mens chipped.
These are my only plastic teams.
Teams are kept through seasons so I guess that makes Orcs even better right?

Re: Best team for a league of noobs?
Personally, I'd go for a fun team.
I do it in Box to keep myself entertained, as building up win percentages against hapless newbs has never been my thing really. If you want to go with a slightly challenging race, take Orcs with Goblins instead of Linemen.
Sure, it's not ultra-tier 1, but it's not too far away from Lizardmen in playstyle. I've considered it in Box a few times (4 BoB's, 4 Blitzers, 4-5 goblins), and I might actually get around to playing it at some point

+1 to trying a "fun" team.
Do something silly with a roster that you wouldn't do in the ox
Undead team with only Ghouls and Skeletons?
Passing focused Orc team?
Dwarves that don't take Guard or Mighty Blow?
if it's a new league that's starting, and you are interested in helping it grow, playing to have fun trumps playing to win. At least for the first couple of seasons.

Use your wood elves as "Works as" Elves and you should be fine. They break even faster than woodies. :p
