Exactly what I was going to suggest. Do the Chaos thing then when they get sick fed up of you owning them ask them if they would let you play the Funderworld again. They might reconsider after one or two clawpbombers.Sandwich wrote:Get a chaos team, so you can kill all mens but will not be running away with things to start with. And then as they start to improve, your team will still be better than theirs
Or, play as orcs, but go with an alternative roster (such as 4 goblins and no linemen) to give yourself a laugh at the same time.

It seems you don't like and/or respect these people very much. Why do you want to play in their league at all?

Re: Best team for a league of noobs?
If they're new and/or bad then Orcs would probably be more frustrating to play against. Speak from experience as a bad coach; Playing badly vs well coached Orcs stops being a game of Blood Bowl and becomes a game of "watch my men fall down and then stand them back up again". Even new/bad coaches only need a little bit of luck to injure an elf or two and my personal experience is that people are a lot less likely to feel bad about a loss as long as they seem some blood on the pitch, to translates to some SPP and possible skill ups for players, while vs Orcs they could be looking at 0SPP games.
But why are you even bothering to play these people?

I support Sandwich's view: Orcs are so incredibly diverse that you can do a fun-ny thing with them.... One coach of old did a successful all lineorc team....
I would suggest 4 Gobbos, 1 Troll, and whatever assortment (2 throwers if you are going easy on them) to round out the team....

Be honest. The whole point of this thread was so that you could spend the day saying, "Kill all mens!"

Orcs without the blackorcs. Challenging for both, and you wont grind them as hard as you may with 4 x str4.
maybe even (almost) skip the lineorcs too:
1 troll
3 gobs
4 blitzers
2 throwers.
1 line,
3 rerolls,
1 apo.
TV 970
11 players.
or something similar. gives you speed instead of av9. I've tried it a few times against the AI (Cyanide). fun! Totally different too.

Re: Best team for a league of noobs?
Agreed, there's little reason to go looking to intentionally demoralize these guys and destroy a new local league and potential new community members. Basically, don't be a spiteful ass.
If you let them know you're a BB veteran, are humble, offer non-condescending points and tips during your game discussion, and just generally foster a good attitude during the match then hopefully demoralization will not occur.
But I agree, go Pro Elves (maybe even without Blitzers) or Orcs with a non-ideal roster. Lots of Goblins and no Black Orcs. Keep it interesting for both you and your opponent.
Also, if it's against new players, simply don't stall. Keep the game fast-paced. You should still win, so I see little reason to stall in the first few games. As they start to pick-up some of the basic skills, then start pointing out how clock management is just as important as space management and then begin running off the clock against them.

Hmm good point. I do love BB but I can just play on FUMBBL whenever I want a match.Porkus_Maximus wrote:But why are you even bothering to play these people?
Thinking about it more grinding out guaranteed 2-0 wins seems very boring.
Using Stunties doesn't appeal to me as I really don't enjoy losing.
I guess it could be fun going for 5-0 every match as this is not really possible on FUMBBL and with as you say the added bonus of my opponents maybe gaining some spps.

Re: Best team for a league of noobs?
Yeah I think the most demoralizing for your opponents would be the orc way unless you make a silly roster (no BOBs, etc.) you kill his mens while denying him any spps for himself, that would surely kill the fun for most noobs.

Re: Best team for a league of noobs?
Go with Sandwich's idea. Add the gobbos to the orcs and a troll and start launching them about.
Alternatively play Gobbos or Flings. That'd be fun.
WEs are to easy to own noobs with being Ag4 freaks and Orcs are overpowered if you go 4 x blitzers 4x black orcs a thrower and 2 linos.
Challenge yourself and play something you've never played before. I have found vampires a challenge in the past - to the point I don't play them any more
