You could try something a little more left field, I just played slann at the NAf champs last weekend and had much the same problems, my answer...

... Rollerskating goblins (was very easy greenstuff around the shoes trying to get big heels and toe covers and little else... with beads in the bottom in the appropriate positions, i used squig hoopers for catchers and doom divers for blitzers, all in all (as i am a big collector of goblins) the team cost me 99p - and i received lots of good comments over the weekend :)

They dont have to be frogs, just recognisable (and different enough to not be normal goblins in my case)

I dont pretend to be a good painter but will post some piccies if you like... didnt at first and not to keen on thread hijacking

Regards
Sparkles

If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.

I can't take credit for the "krox" as I had Tom do that for me... can take credit for the idea thou :D

Point being... Definition and character are what is required... not anatomically correct frogs

Take what you have and adapt it to fit a story, works better than spending loads of money :-?

I was inspired by this discussion so cobbled together a slann model using bits from a kroot warrior, genestealer, dire avenger, ghoul and chaos spawn.

The original eye holes would need to be filled in and the spines from the legs removed but I think he has a suitably froggy feel.

Absitively posolutely awesome. If it was me, I'd greenstuff a wider froggy mouth. It wouldn't be too hard, you could give it a try in blu-tac first and I bet it'd make a big difference to the feel of the model. That's just personal preference though because your mock-up already looks great.

Maybe you could green-stuff a big auld throat sac on the blitzers? No idea how that'd look but it might be suitably froggy and aggressive.

Sparkydave - I applaud your team, sir. Just the idea of rollerskating goblins is hilarious but the execution is tremendous!

Spubbbba - Your frogman is exactly the sort of thing I had in mind. I guess that's a Kroot body but what's the head?

GW-friendly Slann minis?

Genestealer head as a base, with eyes from (at a guess) the chaos spawn kit... But buggered if I know which bit.
