4st H.E. Blitzer regular skill choice

Post by dfunkateer »

I'm thinking frenzy as his second skill after +st for his first. Is this madness?

Yes. Blodge him up immediately and hope for doubles next time. Failing doubles go Tackle and hope for doubles next time. Failing doubles go SS and then hope for doubles next time.

That's one hell of an IF() statement right there. Partly because you haven't indicated what you're waiting for the doubles for :P

I'd say go for the +ST straight off, then follow with dodge. After that, SS would be great. Guard if you throw a double (after +ST, but before dodge or SS).

I assumed that the ST was already taken - that appears to be the question.

And yes, guard on the doubles - should be a no-brainer on elves of all shades (barring WE/WDs) until you have 2-3 of them.

Depends on a lot of factors tbh. What does the rest of your team look like and what format is it in?

To answer Jimmy's questions, it's a fumbbl league team with no guards, no other hitters except the 2 blitzers and the only other block is on my NoS blodging catcher.

I was thinking frenzy as he's the only st4 on the team so I want to make the hits count but mayhaps dodge would be better.....

In that case I’d agree with Dode and go dodge as his 1st skill then either SS or tackle.

If you roll doubles on him then it would depend on how much guard you already have on linemen and throwers or if you have MB on any catchers. Guard is really needed on all elf teams but a ST4 MB tackle guy is very useful as often you will only get a blitz so will want to maximise your chances of it making a difference. Even a stun can be useful for elves as it can take slow players out of the drive should it be fast moving.

Frenzy is ok but could well get him in trouble, if you expect to play less experienced players then it can be a great way to reduce their numbers. But those who have been round the block a few times will take this into account and may set up traps for that 2nd block. Plus without SS you are more at risk of being surfed back.

Oh and NoS was a waste on the catcher, Guard or MB will both get a lot more use.

Thanks for the advice guys. In the end I went a slightly different route for this player and chose Pass Block. I figure he's gonna be right in the middle of the action so is probably the best choice to muck up a pass.

Thanks again 

Dfunk.

Actually, I chose dodge.

Dodge is fine, although personally I would have taken tackle with a view to mb on a double.
