Inducements for Skaven
Hello boys, I haven't used Skaven before really and have just started a league on FUMBBL with them, first up is a cup match with my near rookie team - https://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team ... _id=693498 vs a tasty Necro outfit - https://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team ... _id=682796
My TV is 1030 and his is 1590. A wizard is obvious which leaves me 410.
So do I go Glart and Hakflem or Headsplitter + babe?

Re: Inducements for Skaven
jimmy - I am not sure about Headsplitter - taking a second Frenzy/Loner player without Block may cause turnovers (or one of the Wild Animals may get stranded). Glart is decent, but bear in mind that Claw without M-Blow is not exceptional. Also bear in mind that presumably you will want to blitz plenty with your giant rat - Glart and Headsplitter will be competing with him for the blitz.
Fezglitch is a popular inducement in our league against bash teams, Skitter is popular against fast or agile teams. Either or both might work quite well in this match-up, Fezglitch to tie up and knock down the slow players, Skitter to go after the ball-carrying Ghoul (very good also for marking receivers). They are both good value. Both get to cause "free" damage without using up the blitz. Fezglitch could be considered with a Bribe, rather than on his own. If you want to go for ST, Fezglitch+Bribe plus Glart may be better than Glart plus Headsplitter.
A couple of Babes should always be considered good value in this kind of match-up.
Hope that helps.

Are you dead set on taking stars?
An wandering apoth or babes may help with skaven’s usual problem of a distinct lack of players in the 2nd half. Plus it increases the chances of your key players surviving to play in future games.

Headsplitter would give you the chance to outmuscle the necro team. Plus it gives you a second Mighty Blow. With no Wild Animal Headsplitter is easy to move around too.
I'd go for Headsplitter if it leaves you enough for babes.

Fezglitch is not an option sadly as ball and chain is not implemented yet on FUMBBL.
Otherwise yeah him and a bribe would be almost for sure!

jimmy - I'll be interested to know how you get on over time with your giant inflatable rat (a.k.a. the Rat Ogre). In my experience he can work OK at the beginning, but then he becomes a serious drag on TV.
Since you took the Rat Ogre, I wonder if you considered the "hard core" option of playing without Gutter Runners altogether!
All the best.

Purely looking at the opponents team, Headsplitter would be a massive roadblock for that STR4 Were he has. If you can man mark him with Headsplitter (no wild animal
) That would take one of his most key players out of the game - theoretically of course. He also gives you an extra man on the pitch for the 2nd half when you are down players and is likely to be a massive headache for your opponent simply as a roadblock. If he bases Headsplitter with a zombie for most of the game of course, well, that's rough.
I think babies, wizard and other non-Fezglitch star might be safer.

Haha no Smeborg I wouldn't play without GR's that is madness!
The Rat Ogre is fine at high TV if he has clawpomb, and because I am joining th league late I liked the idea of 6dbs with mb early to maybe even the odds a little.

Re: Inducements for Skaven
I've played skaven a lot now and I've come to the conclusion that given 100k more in inducements a wandering apothecary is the first choice for league teams. Following that it's a choice for the player.
Glart is good but you find that he vies with the rat ogre for blitz's and the rat ogre is better when blitzing, even if you just want to stand him up and move him. You do find that he gets a lot of attention and mostly has guys left next to him to hold him up so Glart can take the blitz.
Obviously babes are good and Skitter stab stab is great vs low armour teams.
I veer away from secret weapons but bribes can be great, allowing you to foul to try an level the field.
Food for thought?

Re: Inducements for Skaven
Well I went with the 2 star + wiz option, Hakflem was amazing and Glart was pretty good too.
Got to the coin toss(which I lost and therefore lost the game) with 10 men so the apo/babes would have been sub optimal i feel.
The wizard nearly got me the win but my Rat Ogre blew it for me with a both down loner fail - doh!
Thanks for the input fellas.
