All figures we sell or would ever sell are original sculpts made from scratch ... it really is that simple.

and clearly an original sculpt from the green, so fair game..

and Darkson is spot on.. Tom and Chris are far too intelligent to ever sell anything other than 100% original sculpts.. the repercussions would be horrendous..

On a different note, as I read it, bound for glory is basically claiming that the sculptor of this team is converting GW minis, recasting them and calling them his own unique sculpts. That is really not a good thing if that is true.

I would seriously check those claims out if I was Impact Minis.

pump the breaks there, olaf! i'm not claiming anything. i asked a question from the seller and he pointed me to the designers blog. if you remember, i liked the figures. the bids go pretty high on ebay for these. i'm not attacking this designer. i think his work is quite nice, and his "converted skaven" are really good. i'm just saying he should give us a chance to buy them away from evilbay...

just to be very clear here: I AM NOT ATTACKING THE DESIGNER! many here were vocal about "resculpts" in reguard to the skaven mutants. i said i liked them. i took crap for posting an opinion. not a right one. nor a wrong one. but my opinion. i just liked the figures. when i contacted the seller on ebay, the guy said to contact the designer. he gave me a link. i went to the blog and left a note. end of story.

There’s nothing wrong with you liking the models bound for glory but it’s obvious that those skaven are converted GW models.

If they were originals and he pointed out they were conversions then no one would have any issue with the listing.

But if he’s trying to pass them off as original sculpts or as unreleased GW models then that is a very shady practice. Plus if he’s also casting them up then that may well be illegal and he risks getting a letter from GW’s lawyers.

Back on topic I really like some of these Cthulhu models but feel the team lacks a coherent theme, the shark guys just look too out of place. I’d quite like to see a separate team of the shark guys though with different types as positionals.

In the Cthulhu Mythos there are really two realms for the monsters....Oceans and Space. Cthulhu, along with Dagon and Hydra, can be found in the oceans and their minions represent sea creatures. Lovecraft is rather vague in his descriptions, leaving the horror to the imagination of the reader. The deep ones are described as "...anthropoid, while their heads were the heads of fish..." While it doesn't say what type of fish, sharks could certainly fit into that description. Sharks are ancient fish and great hunters, thus why they might serve the role of a BLITZER, or a warrior type for Cthulhu/Dagon/Hydra. That's why the fit, IMO. :D

Despite being such wildly different minis, the team actually comes together very nicely as a whole!

I think the blue hue added to the avatar Nyarlathotep (or whatever) really helps link the blue of the shark people to the rest of the team and make them fit in (as otherwise the blue is a stark contrast to the pink).

Very nicely done... really enjoying the fresh ideas coming out of Impact! lately.

Thanks Lunchab1es!!! And to really surprise everyone ... we are currently actually working on a figure that is 4" tall. Clearly not for FF ... but with the FF fields so saturatured right now ... we are branching out to have some fun with projects that present themselves. This was a great chance to try out 3 technologies we've never used with Impact! ... if it works ... we'll definitely be letting you all know about!

and our next KickStarter is going to be something totally different for us (should appear next week).

Love the sharks! Will be tempted to open my chequebook (as opposed to just my gob) when these are released... ideal for Werewolves proxies. Not too fussed by the others, but seems that plenty on here are, so that's cool... if someone who orders the whole team wants to sell me just the sharks, drop me a PM :P

Great to see Impact leading the way again. The market seems to have hit a bit of a recylcing wave, with lots of producers releasing the same old teams (albeit in fantastic sculpts). These original ideas are really cool, and the use of Kickstarter wholly awesome and appropriate - it's great that you can reduce your exposure to risk while generating theoretically riskier concept designs. Kudos.
