Custom sculpted mini
Random question as I start planning next years tournaments etc.
I am trying to work out ball park figures on a custom miniature of our club mascot as a miniature for next years tournaments and leagues etc but I have absolutely no idea on how much it would cost especially as the number of models needed would be around about 30ish.
Anyone able to point me in the right direction.

Believe me, 30 is not going to be enough....... try 50!!
as someone who's just had to order a load MORE stuff for a tournament Id stick to dice, that bear on the 6 would be cool....in fact stick me down for a pair please buddy!
Pretty sure Willy's miniatures do tournament sculpts (there are probably others) try Pm'ing him (he's on here somewhere)

Re: Custom sculpted mini
Just to let you know, I spent around £80 on 200 dice.
I realise that that is off topic, but the information might help somehow.
Willy does tournament minis, and I think that Impact can sort stuff too (though that might be imagination).

Re: Custom sculpted mini
I’ve been considering doing the same at some stage and Impact look to be a great place to get that done and have information about it on their site.
I’m sure if you speak to Galak he can tell you the full details but I seem to remember that if you come up with an interesting idea then you may be able to get it cheaper if they can sell the model on the site. Of course that would mean the model was not exclusive to your club/event.
One thing I do know is that if it’s made from scratch then it will be a long time between starting the concept and the models being made.

Re: Custom sculpted mini
if u have the model u want to cast, u can get in touch with some manufacterer or foundry, there are several from your country .. i can search for them if u are intereted or u can do it on the web. they usually have a minimum about 100 units to cast, sometimes if the miniatures is big enought about 50/60
i u dont have the model/green u can get in touch with impact, greebo, poncho, gaspez, coximinos or any other store
they can run a limited cast for your miniatures, each one have a diferrent politic about limited runs (some ask for a stock in their stores, some are a bit expensive...).
willy left tourny/limited cos all the work it takes, but he can put u in touch with some of his sculptors to manage all the issue xD

Re: Custom sculpted mini
o We just worked with Eucbowl to create a custom mini forthwith tournament and they were quite happy. If you are interested, send an email to Galak and we can walk you through it. We have two options to consider.

Re: Custom sculpted mini
I've had 7 or 8 figs made for various events. Sculpting costs vary depending on who you get. Bob Naismith is ~£150 per figure. Shane Hoyle is ~£300. Casting is roughly £150 for 50 figures, so you're broadly at £300-400 all in. Some of the impact type schemes can make it more viable

I used Impact for the ARBBL figures, and was happy with them every time.
Just a shame that the figs we made sold poorly after that, meaning (not just because of me I hasten to add) they had to change their t&c's, putting it out of my reach.
But if you can afford it, I recommend the Impact service.

Re: Custom sculpted mini
Cheers for the input guys, didn't realise just how much it would be. Would need to save a few pennies if I want to see BUBBA bear come to life.

Re: Custom sculpted mini
I would second Greebo. They have a selection of tornument miniatures on their site so you can see what they have done in the past. With that being said making miniatures is expensive as you need concept art ($80-150), a green/sculpt ($150-450), mold ($75-100), production casts (.65¢- $2.00 x how many you want produced).
Custom block dice would be the way to go, affordable, and can be used that day. I have a set of the Thrudd dice and I use them all the time.
Cheers,
Robert
