Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!
A forum for football mini's talk.......painting, converting etc. etc. or showing off great accessories that make playing the game easier, cooler or more fun.
Another player gets some paint - this time its Fat Rat! He needs basing still and I need to just sort out his face a little bit, but he cam out OK I think.
Secondly it's the finished thrower which I'm really happy with
And the pair together - the Thrower is clearly hiding behind the bulk of the Fat Rat for protection!
Both of them look great axion, I like the fat rat the moste. You are my hero, I cant wait to convert my fat rat asap.
Thanks a lot for those lovely inspirations you are giving us.
Did a little bit more work on the Fat Rat this afternoon (tidied up the face, re-did the shoulder strip so it wasn't off centre at the back, and based him up too:
I wanna team pic, and your address so I can come an steal 'em!
Reason:''
Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.
On the left is a star Gutter Runner (probably skilled up with diving catch!). There's 3 figures making the whole here - some virtual Bloodweiser Babes to anyone who knows what they are Still some sculpting to do on this one on the legs and to create the rat's loincloth.
And on the right is my very WIP Rat Ogre. He's based on a D&D Fiendish Girallon model which is in a sort of rubbery plastic. That said, I liked the idea of making him into a rat ogre. So far I've chopped him off his integral base and added a few items of BB gear. He'll be getting a helmet in the vein of the other skaven, and I need to rebuild his nose/muzzle (the current blob of gs will be covered up eventually). It should make for a nice unique rat ogre (even if his mutation skills might not match the figure).
And I'm a bit further on with the Rat Ogre - he's now got a belt and a face!
The face is an attempt in modelling the features after on of the Jes Goodwin skaven. If I had to do it afresh I might change a few of the elements to try and give him more of a snarl, and the ears look a bit on the large size, but I'm hopeful with the addition of his helmet it will look OK.
Mephisto wrote:Question: can you explain which colours did you use for the orange and the turquise tones?
My paints are all from the old Citadel range, although I guess you can try and match or buy up some old stock.
Orange - base coat macharius orange (foundation paint), blazing orange to shade and then a roughly 70/30 mix of macharius orange and golden yellow to highlight
Turquoise - base coat of scaly green, highlighted a couple of times just by adding skull white in increasing amounts.
