Rookie CD Mino rolls 6+6

Post by kozmo »

So I got lucky with the first roll on my Minotard and got 6+6. My gut says Block, but I thought I'd see if anyone would talk me out of it.

What do you think?

Block or Claw or tentacles.

Depending on the league.

Strength.

On and ogre, I might think twice, but wild animal makes strength 6 awesome. You can never lose your tackle zonees, and your opponent will have to commit an awful lot to knock him over.

next skill, stand firm.

also, str7 on the blitz is always fun.

Strength, then break tackle. No cage will be safe!

Well, I think the odds of a pow or pow if they lack dodge on a str 3 player (without dodge) with a 3 dice block are 19/27 and 2 dice with block 3/4 so slightly better. Block is also better defensively. Then again with mutations like tentacle down the line you could have some fun!

Wow - you guys seem to love the +STR! Which I admit is really compelling. Would it change your mind to know it's Black Box on FUMBBL? So pretty bashy. He gets uphill 2-die-blocked all the time by blockers.

I was thinking if not block then claw - but that would really make him a target - which on a CD team is probably good. Take the crosshairs off the bulls. :D

Here's a vote for Block. You no longer have to fear acting with him. Besides, a lot of opponents will risk 121/1296 skull and 396 TRR perms for 423 pow perms and 745 push perms. But few will bother for 564 push perms and 188 pows. Once he gets Stand Firm (not before Guard...), he'll only take hits when you're getting Nuffled (or at least outpositioned).

Rolling 6+6 on a skill roll is a sign from Nuffle. You do not want to displease Nuffle, now do you?

Block.

You have two blitzers already in your BC, so you shouldn't be blitzing with this guy often.

And ST6 is only marginally better then st5 again most teams. I'd take a -2D against a blockless player, not one with block.

All that said, I'm not a fan of minos for CDws. With your 6 CDws, and 2 BCs, you've only got room for 3 Hobgobs to carry the ball. Adding a mino lowers that to 2...

Jimmy may be onto something if you don't have much Claw. Then, when he skills again, give him PO, and you'll be in the (blood) money. Then again, he's likely to die or retire....

+1ST. I can't resist the idea of 3-die blitzes on ST3 players, no assist required. Also many 3-die blocks, only 1 assist required.

Having said that, I think there is no right or wrong answer to your question, it depends how you play.
