Sidestep on killer pieces
On my necro team I have a WW with the following skills: Block, Dodge, MB, PO, SS, JU
One interesting thing I have noticed is just how effect SS is. Obviously for sideline play SS stacks very well with frenzy.
But I've noticed that at times my opponents have avoided blitzing him when given a blitz of choice, preciously because of SS - if you don't knock him down you can't just push my WW away, I get to hit you right back with a player with the ultimate kill skill stack.
So any blitz on him is a risky move, especially if the opposition lacks tackle.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

None of my Werevolves ever reached "the ultimate kill skill stack", so they don't elicit such holy terror. Unless near the sidelines, my opponents jump at every opportunity to kill them

argh I forgot the skill name, the opposite of SS, where the blocker puts you where it wants, which negates SS.

With claw, MB, PO and JU I average about 3 CAS/KO (combined) a game with him.MKL wrote:None of my Werevolves ever reached "the ultimate kill skill stack", so they don't elicit such holy terror. Unless near the sidelines, my opponents jump at every opportunity to kill them
He is a target still...but I have noticed the occasional hesitation.

Really? With those skills I'd be taking a shot at him every time unless I could hit the ball carrier or a squishy ghoul. Then once he's on the ground then he'd be invited to a boot party with my whole team getting invited.
SS is a good choice for a Wolf as he already has agility access but I don't think it would be that great a doubles choice on a normal killer player.

I do tend to reroll pushes on killers/people I want dead...I might not normally, but if they had sidestep I would. I know it's tempting fate and something you say you should never do, but I usually get by on 1-2 rerolls a half, so when my 4 reroll major team is playing a normal game, I have spare

Re: Sidestep on killer pieces
I'm inclined to believe it's not sidestep on him that discourages blitzes, it's the combination of blodge and sidestep.
I'd think twice or just send a tackler in. Or blitz early assuming I had plenty of guarders left to activate to try and discourage you hitting me back with frenzy.

Re: Sidestep on killer pieces
YAR! I become an unholy terror when I see players like this on the pitch. So much so that I have been known to stop caring about scoring just to try a kill these bastards off and mount their heads on my wall. Lose a game 3-0....no problem. I still broke your star players back. I've found that the sting of losing these players burns so much longer for most coaches than the joy of winning the match does. And when it comes to Blood Bowl I truly get a sadistic thrill out of knowing I pissed someone off to that degree. I totally turn into the mean kid that is jealous of someone's shiny new toy so I spitefully try and break it in a temperamental fit of rage.spubbbba wrote:Really?
