Got a reply almost straight away, they come pre-packed from Neomics so he couldn't split things up or get pictures, so i've just ordered anyway. Will post photos of the results!

As promised, heres where I'm up to so far.

Troll Trader delivered the next day, fantastic service and I'm pretty chuffed with what I got too. For anyone interested, this is the £29 set under 'Neomics > Chaos Alliance" on his webstore. OK, so, first things first I started with this bundle...

Image

...as already mentioned, I'm using the classic Bloodthirster I already own as the Big Guy, GW Bloodletter plastics as the Letters, Avatars of War models as the Heralds and Neomics Chaos Marauders as the Pit Fighters. A closer look at what I got for my thirty quid...

Image

...you get a couple of mutation bits that you can see in the top left. A big hand, a tentacle, a pair of claws and an extra arms. Interestingly, the arms are a perfect fit in both size and shoulder joint with the Gaspez Arts Chaos Marauder bits (Of which I have a few spare), so if you wanted to mix and match with them (I prefer the Gaspez Claw for example), you easilly could.

There are ten heads between 8 bodies (I may only end up making 6 of these as I can't see me using any more?), and enough arms to make 8 'normal' players. Four bodies with two copies of each.

Not started the Pit Fighters yet, but spent most of the day making Heralds and Bloodletters. This is what I ended up with. Still got a bit of work to do, some liquid greenstuff to clean up any rough gap filling, and a couple of mold lines I've missed that the camera has reminded me of, but I'm fairly happy with how they turned out. Neither model was particularly dynamic, so took a fair bit of chopping and posing to get something remotely interesting.

I'll get cracking ion the Pit Fighters now, and then I'll break out the Halfords Red undercoat and spray paint to get a head start on painting them!

Any comments would be nice, even if you hate the team! :)

No, that would be heresy! Square bases for undercoating and painting, then they get put on resin bases to match the rocky/snowy base of the Bloodthirster, which are of course round!

Here's the Pit Fighters. Went together OK, the necks don't quite fit some of the bodies and the shoulder pads needed opening up for the arms to fit on in some cases, but nothing major. When I was assembling them I wasn't as happy as I thought I'd be as the necks looked very elongated, but as a group looking at the photo they do in fact look reasonablly normal. Pretty happy with the punk look that draws them together too. Overall, fits in the team nicely!

I'd better go get undercoating now I guess?

Looks good Dave, love seeing custom teams regardless of race. Any idea what you'd use them as at a tournament (assuming Khorne isn't an option at present)?

No idea to be fair? Assuming they don't get NAF'ed then I'll just keep them as a league team, sure they could translate to something but I've not really thought about it?

How many people are actually building a Khorn roster? Are your local leagues adding them to approved team play?

Hadn't noticed that when they were released, but I agree, though I assume they could be trimmed to fit better?

I really like what you've done with the Heralds and Letters; nice poses, good BB vibe to them. I'm less sold on the Pit Fighters, partly because of the slightly weird anatomy, but also as this stage there's no visual tie in with the Heralds/Letters.

Admittedly, the paint job will help in this regard, but have you thought about using one or two of the spare Letter heads to make some demonesque masks (paint em bronze) for a couple of the Pit Fighters? If you left off the horns and tongues and put a strap round the back of the head it would look pretty cool, and help tie the team together (you then have a visual link Herald > Letter > masked Pit Fighter > normal Pit Fighter.

The necks are odd. I get the feeling that some fit snugly and others needed a bit of cutting and filing to fit, and those that where a struggle are the elongated ones. A couple look fine, but I'll got back and revisit the long necks before applying paint to them!

Open Right hands - Geoff is correct, the Bloodletters have been converted with WHFB Crypt Ghoul hands. This is an essential bit of kit to anyone converting BB models, can't tell you the amount of times I've used them! The Herald models where a bit bigger, so they get right hands from the most recent Tzeentch plastic Horrors.

Regarding them tieing in with the rest of the team, I think I'll achieve this through the paint job. The mask idea is interesting, but I don't think it would translater well as a mask if they had the same level of detail as the actual Bloodletters. It would just look like humans with Bloodletter heads. I think once the team is painted and based coherently they'll look fine and dandy.

Just need to find some time to get the paints out now! Could be a while!!!

What shoulderpads did you use for bloodletters?
