Question about +1 AG Slann Blitzer

Post by Kypt »

Below is my roster:

http://dallas.bloodbowlleague.com/defau ... p=ro&t=cul

I have a blitzer that has block and has a +1 AG. I now rolled a 10. I'm not 100% what I want to turn this blitzer into. Should he be a ball carrier or should I make him a cage breaker? Any thoughts?

Cage breaker, for ball carrying purpose there are the Catchers.

So you'd recommend starting with strip ball at this point?

TBH I would go wrestle strip ball with someone else (a catcher) as you have a better chance of getting the ball free than you do with block. 5 of the six options cost him the ball as against 4.

edit
With that guard catcher jumping in as well you should get 2 dice on a cage so perhaps strip ball. to be honest though the people who know what they are doing against slann (not me) tend to not cage anyway but use multiple screens.

If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.

Kinda hard really. The blitzers are so costly that using them as cage busters will be a waste of TV. On the other hand, +AG is golden for slann.

I might keep him on the blitzer generalist path (Block, Dodge, Side step, Guard). Dodge will help a lot as he's supremely mobile now. He's also great at ball carrying so Block would help there. Catchers are good ball carriers but only because they have AG4. ST2 is a big hindrance.

Not wishing to hi-jack this thread i have a similar problem...a +1 ST Slann blitzer (only skill) who about to skill again, do I go Block? Tackle or Strip ball, I dont even want to consider doubles? (St, yes, Ag, yes. on a 10 id take Mv)

I was going to sack him, however my Krox (and yes, i have a Krox) is also close to skilling up (he already has guard) so i thought id keep both and see what the next rolls where....If the Krox gets block then i have a tough choice

Thoughts?

Just checked the roster and the blitzer already has Block. I'd give him Dodge next to make maximal use of the +AG.

No point now in making him into a cage buster. Obviously he's going to be doing a lot of that but I wouldn't build for it.

No, I would take Dodge now, to protect him and to exploit his AG 4.

I would take Block on your +1 ST Blitzer, or Wrestle if you want a cagebreaker.

+AG/Block guy, Dodge. I wouldn't Guard/SS him up, though: he's too expensive to be risking like that. I'd give him Tackle and Pro as his 4th and 5th skills.

+ST guy, I'd go Block or Wrestle, then Dodge, then at 51 SPP, choice of MB (PO to follow at 76), Frenzy, Tackle, and Strip Ball.

I would have taken the movement. What an amazing piece, MV 8 with JU and AG 4 + leap? He'd be a great resource on the pitch for scoring, cage breaking, or any other role you would like to see.

Eventually... if he lives long enough to get Wrestle and Strip.

Stripball I think. Wrestle support from catchers and a block sB DT ju to try a cage break with a reliable 2+ to leap in.
