Awesome! Thanks a lot. I think getting three halfbreeds will be easier.

Those are very cool, and the scale looks spot on.
I presume you'll be using the CD's from Mantic range too.
What do you use as hobgoblins with those?

Keen to see those other conversions, too!
Yeah, those bodies look great which is surprising as I think the rest of the Mantic dwarfs look terrible, both normal and chaos versions. Mind you Gw’s dwarf range is mostly poor and still hasn’t topped the old marauder dwarfs. We seem to be getting some nice dwarf models from AoW and Forgeworld though.

I think those bodies would fit the forgeworld chaos dwarf torsos. You’ll have to be careful when chopping the bodies to not cut the beards off too as the resin is a little brittle.

Yes, I'm using Mantic Abyssal Dwarves. For the Hobgoblins I'm using the bodies from Mantic Ghouls (had to remove the spikes puncturing the flesh) with Gnoblar heads from GW's Ogre range. They look great, imho. I'm thinking seriously about sculpting on shoulder pads with leather straps, as otherwise there's no place on the miniature for a player #. I'm not the greatest sculptor, so I may screw it up royally, but might as well try.

I'll be using FW Infernal Guard. As for my hobgoblins I have converted Empire Flagellants with Night Goblin heads.

You're buying from FW, I assumed money was not a limiting factor ;)

Hey guys

I've decided to start work on a Chaos Dorf team. Anyone know where I can pick up a couple of these half-breeds without shelling out for a full box? Perhaps someone has some spares, or there's a Mantic bitz/sprue trader out there you can point me towards.

Cheers, and Happy Christmas!

Steve

Your centaur looks realy awesome ! FW convertion are definitly the best option for chaos dwarf if you have money !

There is plenty good figures for dwarf, mino and centaur but the only reason that I can't start a chaos dwarf team is that all the hobgoblin figures are bad...

Hobgoblin are horrible minis on every single manufacturer (GW, greebo and gaspez, impact, uscarl)...

Did anybody find a solid alternative for Hobgoblin ? Please...

Shteve0, not to toot my own horn, but I can offer you the following (listed less than 2 hours ago). They're not Mantic, but still...

No idea if that helps though.

Agreed, most of them look like they should be on one of those 30's Cinzano or Campari posters you see in "cool" places sometimes. I use 2nd Ed Orc Catchers and Lino's for Hobs - they have less armour than regular Orcs, and I didn't have a better use for them these days.
