I managed mine, had all 24 (25 with Khorne) with all the extras I wanted. Just sold a couple of teams so I'm still painting away!

Did I pledge anything? Hmmmm....

I did accomplish a refit of my Necromancer team.... Almost refitted my Undeads... just need to paint the two undercoated Mummies....

For 2013: Finish the two fists full of models to have the Necro-Undead-Khemri kit done; paint up the Vampire team; finish and paint all the associated Stars; paint the Nurgling-Ogre team; paint the retro-gobbo team (two unreleased Trolls and full compliment of 1st edition goblins); and maybe finish a nurgle team....

With a new wife, that's gonna be nearly impossible... :) ... despite her being a gamer! But I'll try!!! :orc:

Oh!, and figure out lighting in this ^*^% apartment to take good pictures of my minis!

Ok what I really hope to do is to paint those Humans as well as the Orcs I should have after Christmas and one more team (Chaos Dwarfs, Dark Elves or Lizardmen). More from that last list, and/or a starplayer or two, would be a bonus.
To my own amazement, I finished this pledge (that is, Humans, Orcs, Dark Elves & 6 Stars incl. Morg) in October, so with the Lizards I'm doing now, I'm ahead of my own expectations! :o 8)

Btw.: Great idea to resurrect this thread at the end of the year! :D

I think I'd settle for getting one of my unpainted teams painted. That would be more than I've achieved in the past 8 years.
OK, that's what I pledge too: a completely painted team!

We should post our progresses here to make sure we keep up with our words !

Fred

PS: or start a sticky 2012 pledges thread !
Totally failed my pledge! With Baby #2 coming up in the next days, I don't see my painting time increasing!

Pledges for 2012

Post by Shteve0 »

Shteve0 wrote:Great thread!

1) finish up basing and painting my dwarves, humans and norse... Very nearly done is not done enough!
2) revisit converting my dark elves - not enough variety in the figs
3) convert and complete a new team every quarter... That's Pro Elf, Amazons, Undead and Skaven by christmas, taking me to 8/24 teams
4) join a TT league or tourney in a new country
5) get a new player involved in BB
6) build or have built a traveller-style display case!
Epic fail. I did number 4 twice, and erm.... That's it.

1-3, 5 and 6 will have to roll over to next year!

We should rename the topic to or create one with Pledges 2013 ;)

I pledge to touching up my dark elf and skaven (and varnishing them correctly so they stop chipping so much)...
But more importantly I pledge to finishing a massive 5 teams in 2013. I admit I will cheat a bit since I will do a combo Undead-Necro-Khemri ("3 teams" with one set of approximately 25 figures + sideline staff and counters)

The 2 other ones are not fixed yet. Probably Chaos, since they have been lying here converted and primed for nearly 2 years now. And the last team; something different depending on which colour I am in the mood for...

I'll pledge for 2013

Paint and base my Vampire team and dark elves.

Revisit the humans. Base my dwarves. Attempt to make a custom pitch.

Look into Chaos dwarves/chaos team for painting

2. Run a tournament in September - NärkeBowl 2
3. Paint a Nurgle team (2 minis almost done, 13 to go)
4. Paint the starplayers for my Orc, elf, vampire and Nurgle team
5. Buy less miniatures than last year... well, I will try to.
Did 1 - now with a homepage on the way http://pebble.bloodbowlleague.com/
Did 2, twice - we had both a tournament in both september and may.
Did 3 - in mars. Also painted a Chaos Dwarf and a Skaven team.
Did part of 4 - have painted 2 starplayers for Nurgle.
Did 5 but bought like 4 new teams this year anyhow.

For 2013:
1. Paint a team for my fiancee - she wants to play but wont do it if she doesnt have her own team.
2. Paint a stuntyteam.
3. Play at a major tournament
4. Paint another team (have a chaos, lizardmen, norse, elf, undead/nekro, ogre, goblin choice of unpainted teams in by bucks and baskets at home).

spubbbba wrote:I pledge to be more productive than last year and to give myself tougher deadlines so I don’t spend months on the planning stages only to lose interest when I see another lovely new model that would be perfect to convert into a BB player.

I am working on Amazons, Chaos Pact, Khemri and Goblins and hope to finish them all in 2012.
Well I’ve finished the Amazons, Chaos Pact and Khemri. I’m pretty happy with all 3 of those and think they are some of the best teams I’ve done.

I failed to male a Goblin team sadly as I wasn’t able to come up with sufficiently interesting ideas to make my planned Forest Goblin team work. So they are on the backburner for now.
spubbbba wrote: That will just leave Halfling, Ogre, Pro Elf, Slaan and Vampires to do and I’ll have completed all 24 teams. Though I do have some interesting ideas for a 2nd version of Chaos, Dark elf, Dwarf, High Elf, Human, Orc, Skaven and Wood Elf teams. Oh and I could always do all the stars and coaching staff for all the teams too. :)
I have completed a Pro Elf team so that makes up somewhat for failing with the Goblins. I’m also about half way through a 2nd Lizardmen and Chaos Dwarf teams that should be complete in early 2013.

I’ve made a fair bit of progress with bits for the Slann and Vampire teams too.

So 4 teams done, 2 in progress and 2 more in the planning stages, I’d consider that a successful 2012 model-wise. :)

It took me till November, but I did finish painting a full team. Just in time to set a goal for 2013!
And finished the team conversion goal in December! Finished a full 16 orc team for my brother in law. He wants to learn how to paint and play table top!

we are about five weeks into 2013, how is everyone doing with the pledges?

My Dark Elves are complete and I am slowly working on a new ork team. One figure a night, 18 figures to go, find a troll and paint him/her up also.

Painting the vampire team is on. I am stuggling to find time to paint properly but I am underway.

The Dwarves shouldn't be a problem so that me be a quick job to do.
