Your most successful (=matches won) race in league?
Which race do you believe you've been the most successful with, i.e. the one with which you've had the highest rate of victories?
If you can say why, that would be great.
Because we're geeks and can't always make adult decisions, you can pick two races if you can't just choose one.
This poll has probably been run in the past but I thought it was about time to see if things had changed... I'm interested in leagues (vs tournaments) because an individual player's style and the full potential of a race stand out more IMO.
I doubt anyone will pick halflings or orcs EDIT: sorry, I meant OGRES!..., but I decided to include them for the sake of neutrality. Chaos Pact, Slann and Underworld are close enough to be official (e.g. in FUMBBL) so I've added them too.
For me, it's dark elves. They are sturdier than woodies and thus aren't as subject to the highs and lows of misfortune as the latter (I've lost countless wardancers on a double 1.), although they require a lot more thinking re: player positioning because they're slow for elves.

For me it is easily Orcs, even though I don’t find them that interesting or fun.
The first time I used them I didn’t do very well as I was new to the game.
Back in FUMBBL’s lrb4 days I had an Orc team with a stupidly good record something like 20/2/3 and a hefty chunk of those games were in 4 tournaments (3 of which I won and the other I lost in the final). I have another team with an 8/1/1 record, even my team that didn’t use Black Orc, Blitzers or Throwers, never had more than 11 rostered players and took 4 goblins had a winning record.

Necromantic
W-T-L
Regular Season Record: 46-16-4: 81.8%
Playoff Record: 17-0-2: 89.5%
Finals Record: 4-0-1: 80%
I had a heck of a run with this team. I had 3 legends (the two WWs and a WI). I was going to retire them after the 3-peat...but I felt I couldn't when they were the champs, so in some ways it was almost a relief after I lost early in the playoffs in my last season with them after the 4th Championship.
I think a large part of the reason I was successful is that my league took a turn towards bash teams, and Necromantic are a very, very good counter bash team with claws and regen. In fact, my playoff losses were to Pro Elves and Lizards - and I faced a lot of Orcs , Chaos, and of all things, Khemri.
Necromantic also heavily reward good positional play.

High Elves, then Dwarfs. Funny enough, Humans are third. I love Orcs, but I only do okay with them. Used to be a Pro Elf fan, but then one day I suddenly forgot how to win with AV7.

Re: Your most successful (=matches won) race in league?
In a scheduled league in real life I have utterly dominated whatever I used.
In a scheduled league on FUMBBL my best team is Undead even though I played bad/was unlucky a couple of times - http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=t ... _id=686544
In matchmaking on FUMBBL Lizardmen are almost unbeatable - this was my first try with them - http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=t ... _id=679383

Necros once they get rolling are nasty in a perpetual league. Went on a 15 game win streak and had a total record of around 25-6-1 (obblm database was wiped).. started with a 1-4 record and once the weres got a few skills they were off to the races.

Re: Your most successful (=matches won) race in league?
Most successful: Undead, won the first 19 games they played (but this was in 3rd Ed.). Haven't played them much since.
Next most successful: (Pro-)Elves, won 19, drew 2, lost 3 and won the league. Stopped playing them because they won too easily.
All the best.

Re: Your most successful (=matches won) race in league?
I haven't kept records with Undead, but they seem a consistent 2nd place league powerhouse under my tutelage... Necros are more consistent winners, but can crash as well as splash depending on what's out there....
Of the records I still have, 5 Necro teams are a combined 37 wins, 15 losses and 16 ties.
Last records I've kept are on Necros 18 wins 5 losses and 4 ties
Against:
'zons 5 wins 1 loss
Goblins 2 wins 1 loss 3 ties (we do have a mega-star coach for gobbos)
Chaos 4 wins 2 losses
Norse 1 tie
Humans 1 win
High Elf 1 win
Dark Elf 1 win
Ogre 1 win
Nurgle 1 win
Orcs 1 win
Welfs 1 loss
Dwarves 1 win
Another Necro team:
6 wins 3 losses 5 ties
vs Chaos 0 wins 2 losses
vs Humans 5 wins 1 loss 2 ties
vs Delfs 1 loss
vs Orcs 1 tie
vs Halflins 1 win 1 tie
3rd Necro team:

vs Ogres 2 ties
vs Khemri 1 win
vs Humans 1 win 2 losses
vs Orcs 1 win 1 tie

vs Lizards 2 wins
5th Necro team:

KHEMRI!
Sun City Devils - Critical Bowl XIII Champions!
And yes, I know no one cares but me.
But Khemri is my honest answer. Played 47 games over 4 seasons in a very competitive local TT league. Made the semi-finals in my first and third seasons (lost to the eventual champ both times - Orcs and then Vamps) and the team went all the way in Season 4 before shambling back to the desert (retirement),

Re: Your most successful (=matches won) race in league?
I won our tabletop league with Necro. My Chaos Pact team has only ever lost 3 games and has made the finals match two seasons in a row.
I've also played Nurgle and Chaos Dwarf but haven't been as successful.

Norse and Lizardmen. Both of which I was then banned from playing again.
Skaven would probably be up there, but because they're the only race I have a semi-decent NAF ranking with, I was told I wasn't allowed to use them either!
But I think that's more to the fact we'really a gaming club, not a BB club, so unlike myself (being a self-confessed BB fanatic), they're not big on the whole development side of the game. In any given match-up the guys like Moodygit and BigBelcher can and do beat me, but over a series of games I will win a lot more than I lose against them.
While not the most tactical, the leagues are always, which is what it's all about at the end of the day.

I managed 8-0-2 with Chaos in our league last season, but I had a couple of lucky early wins. I lost to agility teams unsurprisingly.

Generally do really badly. best on cyanide was elves where I ran away with a private league. Best at ECBBL was welves (3
from 13), followed by flings where I won 2 from 9. Only been playing for about 3 1/2 years and have graduated from terrible to merely very bad!

For me, Lizardmen, though I'm not sure whether I actually do better with High Elves.
