Re: Your most successful (=matches won) race in league?
TECHNICALLY, in terms of record, my best race is Halfling. But that's 'cause it's all TT, and it's sample-size theater: 5-0-0. Nurgle too, but only 6-1-0, with only two FUMBBL games. I voted among the teams I play.
Hmmm... let's see.
FUMBBL, I'd say it's HE, Dwarf, and Amazon (all .700-.750), then Human, Undead, and Chaos (all .650-.700).
TT, I'd say it's HE (.900+), Orc (.800+), and a lot of team races with one good season.
The hardest races for me that I play are Nurgling, Norse, and Dark Elf, all at .500. In the case of the DE, it's sample-size: I only play DE on FUMBBL, and I got my stat-bumps early, so my TV is temporarily skewed. Haven't played a lot of games. Nurglings just suck (and my team is silly, built specifically to beat Skryre and kind of iffy at that), and my hyper-aggressive style is very hit-and-miss with Norse (plus my FUMBBL games were vs very good coaching, and my TT Norse team was a consistent massive underdog, usually >500k). I have struggled with Orcs on FUMBBL (under .600), but my third effort may prove the charm: they're 6-2-0 and shaping up nicely.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

Necros for me. I like them a lot, because they have options
No matter what, you always have that MA 8 S 3 player who can score even from a difficult position, and might even frenzy-block his way out of a big mess.
But I've never played elves before, I will start with them dark'unz this season (alongside my necros, we have an open league where most people run 2-3 teams at the same time), so we'll see how things look 1/2 year from now.

I'm surprised to see how few people have picked skavens.

Me too. My league is lousy with them. Sadly, though, I'm lousy with them: I play a numbers game.

Re: Your most successful (=matches won) race in league?
Could you possibly clarify what you mean by "numbers game"? A game where you have as many players on the pitch as possible (and thus making you discard av7 races, except when they have dodge or block (amazons and norse))?

Re: Your most successful (=matches won) race in league?
I set up a lot of die rolls on both sides, then make my rolls easier: my basic strategies mostly involve making easy blocking rolls to force opponents into difficult d6. Skaven play from the other end of that game, reducing the amount of prioritization and chance, with better odds on the important-but-hard stuff.

Re: Your most successful (=matches won) race in league?
So basically, if I understood your correctly, based on that "numbers game" you'd only recommend:
- a pure bashy team, or
- a full agility team (everyone AG4, except for teams where all have dodge: amazons, lizardmen whose skinks have dodge + stunty (i.e lizardmen) and to some extent even halflings and goblins; skavens don't make the cut because only 4 of them have ag4 or dodge, the rest not being even bashy)
Did I get that right?

No, not at all. Just saying I'm better at playing the heavy, fits my style better. Even when I play "lightweight" teams, I still grind aggressively. That's not how Skaven excel.

My best tournament team is halflings: 66% win record.
But really, my most succesful teams are wood elf and orc. Although according to fumbbl I am unbeaten with necros, but I've only played 5 games with them, but over 30 with the pointy ears and green skins.

Necro and Lizardmen for me. Last time I played them, it was around 1 loss for every 10 wins. I'm good for mobile bash, I guess.

Hmmm. Do you all stop playing dwarves when you actually become good at the game? Because that's the only reason I can understand the results in general. I know I won't play dwarves anymore in normal league circumstances.

Voted chaos dwarves as I managed to win two TT seasons with the following stats: 16/4/2.
I have only tried them and dark elves in TT leagues, so it might not give the best stats on which team is strongest in a league. On fumbbl ranked I have only played a couple of games with cds and there I have had most success with lizardmen.

I voted for Orcs. Back when I first played bb in 90's, I had only ever played solo games (I played both teams). That's right I had no friends.
Anyway, Gw stores were hosting all day tourneys, so I skipped UNI for a day and went to Walsall store. And low and behold, I opened a can of whoop ass on every one, and beat all on comers with my standard Orc team. I was, for that day, Da' Big Boss

I'm sure there will be some other coach that will say something different, but in my experience, overall yes. Dwarves are good for a slow and safe game. If your opponent is fast and has a streak of luck allowing him / her to steal the ball from you, you've probably lost 2-0 because you'll be too slow to catch up with them.Coach Grievous wrote:Hmmm.
