This is tremendous news! I'll be buying more teams for sure - now who will paint them for me? :)

Thanks to Tom and Chris at Impact for always striving to give gamers more bang for their buck!

Also, thanks to Tom for guesting on the most recent Three Die Block to talk about this plastic explosion as well as creating new team rosters!

And...MORE APE OPTIONS!!! Woot!

will there be any issues with primer sticking to the plastic? just wondering as i recently painted a few FOW tanks(from a company that only sells plastic) and the primer flaked in places.

its good practice to wash your models before you begin painting them. often time they have a mold release agent remaining on them from the casting process. it prevents the paint from sticking. just use soap, water and a toothbrush.

I second that. I wash all minis before primer. I have had much more success with the paint sticking. I also try to avoid touching the mini after washing and during the painting process. Oils on hands also cause paint to come off. My bases were especially bad. A bit OCD perhaps, but I like the results. :orc:

We have not heard of any problems with primer not sticking to this material so far.

There are differences between the types of plastics and resins used for models. It also depends on what release agents are used in the casting process. I’ve found that plastics tend to hold paint better than metal and are certainly much less likely to chip.

Personally I far prefer plastic over metal for bloodbowl models, not only is it easier to convert but the models better survive the extra handling they get compared to other games. I’m also hoping this means that there will be less flaws in the casting.

Its been my experience that smaller companies tend to keep the moulds longer so you get more misaligned halves, defects or less of details in their metal stuff than you do with the more established companies.

1) Gnome Team with 6 Contraptions, 10 Gnomes, Head Coach and 2 Contraption weapon packs
2) Siringit Team (12 different African animal football players)
3) Apes of Wrath Elfball team (14 figures (Siringit or Orc team rules), 4 Gorilla, 5 Chimp, 2 Gibbon, Orang, Silverback & Gorilla Centaur)
4) Apes of Wrath Gorilla Centaur team (14 figures, 2 Gorilla Centaur, 6 Gorillas and 6 Lineapes)
5) Apes of Wrath Fantasy Football team (17 figures, 8 Gorilla, 4 Chimps, 2 Orangutan, 2 Gibbons and a Silverback)
6) Black Rock Dwarf #1 (16 players, 2 Dwarven Centaur, 6 Dwarves and 8 small Hobimps)
7) Black Rock Dwarf #2 (16 players, 2 Dwarven Centaur, 6 Dwarves and 8 large Hobimps)

In addition to these ... we are looking at moving the Impcrusher, Headslicer and both large Deadwood Treemen to plastic.

:( I was really hoping for a Cthulhu Elfball team in plastic. At $35 for Cthulhu figures, that would very likely be the catalyst to hooking a few friends into EB.

I'll talk to Chris about getting maybe a Necromonicon team into the mix for the next run.

I promise to buy one when you manage to get that done!
That team was on my wishlist ever since I first saw it, but the cost and so many other teams I´m working on at the moment so far kept me from buying these guys.

Tom question about the apes going plastic... would these be available in 'boosters' the same as the sarcos? For instance 4 gorilas, 4 chimps ect?

Would you be able to do other minatures/teams not just made by Impact! or would that be some type of infringement/just not gentlemen like?

wouldnt be possible i dont think, tom buys stock from other companies such as greebo, gasperz ect. he would need access to the moulds to be able to get plastic casts.

of course other companies might follow impacts and start releasing plastics..
