That would destroy me - I need more instant gratification!

I have painted teams that way before, but it's no fun at all. Makes it feel as though the intention is just the destination, not the journey. I actually enjoy painting, it's my "cave" time - so one sweet mini at a time is just right!

Three at a time, mostly, for me - I find it a happy medium, giving me a measure of consistency, fairly swift results and minimal time lost to drying.

Awesome figs, by the way - can't wait to see that cameraman painted up! Any plans to enter him for the Golden Football...? ;)

Yep, the camera guy may well get entered into the GF :-)

Superb again, the second fat rat has really worked out well. I also find once I've got 11 players done I tend to lose interest a bit, so it's really good you've got a display base planned to keep you going.

I also enjoy painting, and I do paint single minis when I do star players, but seeing your whole team slowly becoming a reality has a charm of it's own. :D

Right then...had a big push yesterday evening on getting some of these figures progressed.

First up, the based linemen (just need a varnish and they're done):

Next, my re-rolls and a score counter - i didn't spend too long on the paint jobs for these - just enough to be passable:
Image

Next, the photographer gets some paint. Once the glue is dried on the base, he'll get it painted and flocked:

You want to see the team manager? OK then! This guy is still early WIP and needs some greenstuff work, but I've at least made a start:

Finally, I mocked up my display base:

Task list for NAFC:
- Varnish 3-legs & fat rat 2
- Base & varnish photographer
- Paint, base & varnish tentacle lineman & four-armed gutter runner
- Convert, paint, base & varnish team manager
- Make display base

Well on target I reckon ;)

I am really interested to see how to make a display base. The team looks great so far though

I can certainly do a step by step when I make it, but the summary is:

1. Buy a cheap Ikea frame
2. Cut a piece of MDF same size as the glass/backing
3. Drill holes in the piece of MDF to size of slottabases
4. Texture MDF / Paint / Model
5. Remove glass from frame and replace with MDF
6. Done

I saw several people do a similar thing before doing my necro team base last year:

I guess I am off to IKEA and to get some MDF so I can follow along at home

Made some good progress again last night - fat rat 2 & 3-leg got varnished and the photographer had his base flocked this afternoon.

I also managed to put paint to the final Gutter Runner:
Image

After all that denial, perhaps the top left arm is a touch too long, but as was pointed out, if you're looking for realism, he is a ratman with 4 arms and 2 heads... ;)

Task list for NAFC:
- Base & varnish gutter runner
- Paint, base & varnish tentacle lineman
- Convert, paint, base & varnish team manager
- Make display base

Getting there!
