These are my ranked delves on fumbbl. Pretty pleased with how they are developing. Want to try and blodge all my lino's and develop the blitzers further. Im then thinking of introducing 2 we's and a runner in the end. Is this the right course?

4 catchers and a thrower with hail mary pass, what could possibly go wrong?

Wrodge is better for DE linelves, because Wrestle helps to sack the blodge ball carriers.Oly1987 wrote:http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=t ... _id=722216

1 runner is ok, 1 witch elf too but 2 can be hard to manage if you want to control your TV.
I'm currently playing with just one.

On my aggro HE, I like to split the difference between Block and Wrestle. DE start with four Block, so you can mostly take Wrestle. For me, the best split on the pitch is 6 Blodge to 5 Wrodge.

For the witches I was thinking 1 block and 1 wrestle with mb and jugg for doubles respectively. I like wrestle on lino 's but my only problem is if they roll a double after wrestle then guard isnt as good

Not a great issue, honestly.Oly1987 wrote: I like wrestle on lino 's but my only problem is if they roll a double after wrestle then guard isnt as good
Blodge for a Guard is better but a Wrodge Guard is still useful.

Re: my fumbbl delves
I prefer focusing more on block over wrestle.
Usually I get plenty of block (7 including the blitzers) before I get a wrestle guy. The reasoning is that everyone on your team makes a great ball carrier but wrestle makes them worse at that role.
So I keep it for fodder elves or dedicated ball hunters such a 1 witch elf (though wrestle makes MB less useful if you roll doubles later) or 1 or 2 (high) elf catchers.

I enjoy wrestle with more of the opponent on the ground more to move about and less they have chance of hitting you.
Wrestle and guard is not perfect but the danger of block and guard is more blocks can be thrown at the block guy risking cas.
As for DE, with 4 block and a few more in Witch Elves most of the team will have the skill. Line can easily have Wrestle without a loss of whack to the team.

Re: my fumbbl delves
That's pretty much how I would do it. As for development, I'd go a different route with the Witch Elves and not do one Wrestle and one Block, instead preferring both with Block. I tested the other alternative, but I found that I preferred them as hard hitters instead.
That said, the whole Block vs Wrestle argument is something I'm overall undecided on. I think the right answer is that almost any variation here can work, but I wouldn't ever completely neglect Wrestle, because it is a great toolbox ability even if not spammed across the field. But as for the right balance between the two skills for Dark Elves? I'm not sure if there is an optimal solution available.
However, with my way of putting Block on Witch Elves, and with four Blitzers, that'd put you at six Block players and following that with 5 Wrestle Linemen doesn't sound like a bad way to go. Some of those Linemen will roll doubles and thus go Guard, which will put them in the Block camp.
I'm also seriously considering trying out Wrestle+Block players, especially for Witch Elves, but really for almost anyone who gets enough skills. They'd have to have at least Sidestep first (and maybe something else besides) before even thinking about that option.
