2nd Ed elves are best by a country mile, and also make good woodies, so it's a two for one.

Following that, the current GW elves are mostly good, although I hate the catchers.

Second Ed for me.

I think the high haired Blitzer is my favorite mini of all time.

Huge fan of the current GW's Pro Elves, not feeling the love on the catchers though.

for me the shadow forge ones are the best and the current gw ones are next. I converted my own from eldar and dark eldar bits though.

I like the current GW ones, although the catchers do indeed let them down a little (hover-elves, WTF?).

2nd ed are still super nice looking mini's. Heads are a little large, but they really do stand the test of time.

So far none of the indies have produced anything good. Massive gap in the market there.

There are models in various ranges I like, from current and old GW, to lots of Indies such as Impact, Greebo and Willy.
Unfortunately, the wouldn't work together (imo).

If I had to choose a single range, I'd have to choose GW's 2nd ed figures.

I have to agree with my learned colleagues that are proposing the 2nd Ed elves. I've finally managed to gather a 12 elf team, including 3 plastic line-elves unfortunately, for my collection. Very happy apart from I have a lot of 'doubles' and unlike my youth, I'm sure finding swaps will be tricky!
