As much as I love SS, he's AV7 and expensive. You don't want him eating turf. Generally, the fear is getting him pinned down when you don't have the manpower to support him, and when that happens you need a fast scoring play. That's why I was thinking Nerves on that guy. SS is a better pure-runner skill, yes, but your AV7 team means you need to be ready to save your bacon when it all comes down.Jimmy Fantastic wrote:Should he live to 76 SPP, you might consider Sidestep. ST4 Blodge SH Sidestep is awesome.
But yeah, it's hard to argue against skill quality.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

I don’t see any point of taking NoS on a thrower, I doubt you’ll be using it much at all as it will be a pretty rare occurrence that you are passing whilst in tackle zones.
Skills to keep him alive like fend or SS or make him useful on defence such as tackle are far more use. Even accurate would be an ok choice.

SS isn't about being hit on a carrier. It allows you to hug the sidelines without risk of a 5+ dodge, and control the ball scatter direction in the event of facing ST 4 tackle leaping freaks. When you are heavy men down, being able to do that is huge.mattgslater wrote:As much as I love SS, he's AV7 and expensive. You don't want him eating turf. I'm all for it, I hate playing an elf team without a sidestep blodging carrier. I'd rate it as more important than sure hands even!

Ya I have to confess that my answer to that one is "don't play AV7." At AV8, SS is no-brainer. I figured I'd get into Stunty Leeg to cure myself of it. But I find myself playing the heavy there too.

Re: Str+ WE Thrower: how to develop?
I think I would have to go block, dodge, sidestep.
Remember sidestep is also good for survivability in that it reduces the # of hits. You get to choose where he goes, so opponents cannot push you into the square where the Ogre is waiting for you. And it's also less fun to blitz a guy with sidestep because it's more fun to blitz a guy where you control where he is going.
This guy is an all star if you keep him alive. Block, dodge, sidestep will help keep him alive.

Re: Str+ WE Thrower: how to develop?
Yeah block dodge next - 100%
Nos and sh are silly ideas. Please ignore that. Accurate is better if you want a runner that can distribute the ball. 2 or 3 zones of pressure I would advise a dodge out, not nos.
My long line of st4 elves with tackle are the best I have. Block dodge then tackle and Ss. Extraction will be better on leap players or faster players ie your positionals. This guy is a lead blitzer. Tackle and mb hence are his ideal skills for this role. As above this is an outstanding piece for defence. Offense will handle itself
Tackle is not top of everyone's list here but you need to see how good this is. Baring st5 carriers the world is your oyster. I would say its better than block but your stand out guy needs blodge to survive and is the only choice for next skills except st5
