Do you lose skills or traits with a chainsaw?

Post by Dangerous Dave »

OK this has come up in a PBEM game.

Does a gobbo with a chainsaw lose any of his skills / traits / racial characteristics? and does it matter whether the chainsaw is running or not?

In particular, does a gobbo lose stunty? Whilst I can see that dodging may be harder in that he's carrying a heavy implement, I would have thought that most players would keep out of the way!

When I looked it up this morning, I couldn't see any notes on this - BB Mag 5 only mentions that the Pogo Stick player loses skills.

The PBEM tool seems to automatically remove stunty from the equation when you have "Running Chainsaw" added to the stats - I am not sure this is correct.

Answers / opinions please!

I guess it's correct....

From the Sunty description... LRB pg 37:

This ability does not apply if the player is
armed with a secret weapon (such as a pogo stick or
chainsaw), as the weapon slows the little fellow down and
makes him easier to grab.

However.... this part is is the dodge section, just before the crunchy part... so my doubt is: does him keeps stunty, but without the dodge change?

I guess that in the case of Star Players the Stunty trait is tottaly lost... since they are stars and theirs description doesn't include any STunty.... but with this rules.... I don't know, I didn't receive my BB Mag #5 yet!!!! :pissed:

Not - he's still got Right Stuff.

But if I'm correct you can't throw a Goblin with a chainsaw (at least not when it's running - trying to throw without any hands left is quite hard...)

I didn't think you could throw anyone with a secret weapon, but i can't find it in the rulebook now but I am sure i read it somewhere.

Well Scrappa Sorehead (Pogo stick goblin) has Right Stuff. Either that is a bizarre oversight or he can be thrown.

Goblins w/ secret weapons can be thrown; however I believe that a goblin with chainsaw loses his stunty trait. I believe it was in one of the BB Compendiums under the description of the chainsaw.
