Some progress with the display and the team logo/banner. Still some tidying up to do, but it's starting to look alright. A nice break from painting the miniatures. And as a side note, I've gone way overboard with all of these, I should be using the time to work on the house. I could've finished the whole upstairs with the time spent on these

Goddamnit! My house will never be finished. On the other hand, this project (the team) has been going on for nearly as long, and I hate unfinished things. Gotta do this... Maybe the nurgle. Then get the house done. This summer, mark my words! (the house, probably not the nurgle )

I thought I'd just add all my stuff in this one thread, to keep things simple. I've almost done all the conversions for my chaos dwarf team consisting of Rackham models. Best part, I won't be painting this team myself, so I thought I'd post the before pictures before I send them off.

Nothing major with these two, exhanged arms. Made the other one slightly taller by adding a few sections to his body to make them the same height.

Some chaos dwarves









Added horns so they'd look more like chaos dwarves. One of these was posing bareheaded with this other foot on top of his helmet, which was on the ground. I carefully removed it, then removed half of his head and attached the helmet. These still need some green stuff work. Symbols, and other fixes.

Some hobgoblins







Nothing much done with these, some arms/hands converted, the ball. Carved the horns off their heads (the ones later added on the dwarves).

I'll probably get the team back in two or three weeks (I hope!). Will post more pictures then.


Some stuff I did with my nurgle team, namely rotters.








Hands and heads changed. One still needs a new head. Still missing some greenstuffery on the heads, swollen tongues and torn skin.

Plus I made some counters for the UW team. I'm not sure if I totally copied the small goblin with the foamfinger from someone else, or was I just inspired by Inkpwn's dwarf fan. If I did, let me know and I'll give credit.

They didn't quite look like chaos dwarves yet, so I added more horns, and personalized them abit. Maybe going a bit back to that overboard old chaos dwarf look.

This guy is a bit of a dilemma. I have two options for him. Either a ball in his open hand, or a sharp claw to replace his thumb. Both are nice options. Any ideas?

Yeah, naturally. And in-game everytime. But this time it's about what looks better. I'm not taking tentacles for a dwarf.

the fingers of the open hand are very short and stubby.. so you would have to green stuff them around any ball you put there, otherwise it would just look like a ball glued to the palm of his hand..

I take your point about aesthetics, but I'm a firm believer in having the mini make sense as well.. a CD running with the ball is, well, extremely rare.. a CD breaking armour is, for your sake I hope, quite common..

The ball actually fit the hand rather well, since the hand was quite large to begin with. Anyway. I already shaved the thumb off a while ago (it's early morning here, 5 am!). Here's a rather unorthodox take on the claw. Needs some green stuff still.

Hey! You're not helping at all I'm not sure if I have the bits or the time to do them... grumble grumble... He still has a functioning hand AND he's able to pierce armour.
