More Chaos Dwarf Endorsements/matchup questions
I've got a match against some Orcs coming up. Right now I am down 280TV. I have a coach/cheerleader and 4 RR+leader, so I could cut up to 90k in TV and bring my inducements to 370k.
My team:
http://bbm.jcmag.fr/BloodBowlManager.We ... 74&lang=en
My opponent:
http://bbm.jcmag.fr/BloodBowlManager.We ... 63&lang=en
Cyanide doesn't have all the stars, so my choices if I wanted a star would be:
Grashnak 310
Zarg 90
I do not have a DP currently and I have only one claw player...though he does have claw/mb/po.
It would seem to me that the best inducement would be a wizard.
So for options:
1) Wizard+DP Hob
2) Drop the coach/cheerleader and take a wizard, bribe, and babe.
3) Drop coach/cheerleader/RR and take wizard, DP Hob, bribe
4) Drop coach/cheerleader/RR and take Grashnak+babe
Also, given the option should I kick or receive? The claw guy could make a big difference, or the fireball could stop an orc offense and give a defensive TD.

Also I almost never use Fireball it's far too unreliable, Only use Lightening when I absolutely need or hit his best player on turn 1, but again fails 16.7 % of the time. If you are in it for the long haul and developing your team I would almost never take a Star as they tend to hog the SPPs and you don't want to use your 50% RR on them. take some potions if you league allows them they are more of a game changer than anything.

I'm worried by his overwhelming strength advantage: 7 Guards and a +St Bob
I'm wary of Grashnak or Zarg, since they lack Block.
I'm almost tempted by a merc mino with Guard (230?) for static use in the middle of the field, but with av8...
Tough call.

Re: More Chaos Dwarf Endorsements/matchup questions
The problem with a merc mino is that I would have to blitz with him to keep him with the rest of the team, and he would often only get 2D - so 1/6 wasted blitz, 1/9 turnover (likely worse with frenzy).
This is indeed a tough match.
My opponent is stronger, with more guard, more armor, and about the same speed.
I have...thick skull!
I like the wizard as it will force the opposition to change how it runs its offense/defense and when used can break a cage nicely.
Overall though, this is not a good matchup for me - I'll likely be throwing a lot of 1D or -2D blocks to start pushing orcs off my players (if I don't take some Orcs off the field). And it isn't as if I can really spread the field - I'm no faster then he is. Perhaps then I should keep the extra RR to give me 5 for each half with leader to handle those low probably blocks?

Re: More Chaos Dwarf Endorsements/matchup questions
Went with wiz+DP Hob+bribe
Couldn't get enough fouls in to justify it though the wiz gave me a TD.
Lost 2-1, but I had a shot on the last play of the game. Needed a 2+ pass, 5+catch, and 4+ dodge with dodge skill and 2+ GFI with sure feet which is about a 37% chance of success.
Had three players deep - a Hob and both Bulls, but he took down the blodge BC without tackle, which allowed him to block the hob leaving the dodge bull double covered but with me able to knock down one of the defenders.

Re: More Chaos Dwarf Endorsements/matchup questions
Your opponent got that awesome ag4/ kor thrower, else I would have taken a kick merc: not to really steal the ball, but to keep him on his toes during the first turn.
About the dirty player: usually, against so much strength/guard/stand firm, I cannot foul a lot. Not enough room for putting assist. Was the same for you?

Re: More Chaos Dwarf Endorsements/matchup questions
My next matchup is against an advanced DE team, currently coming in at 2230TV.
http://bbm.jcmag.fr/BloodBowlManager.We ... 85&lang=en
And my team
http://bbm.jcmag.fr/BloodBowlManager.We ... 74&lang=en
If I don't replace my missing blocker I've got 650TV to work with - money is no concern on my side. My opponent might want to release one of his damaged blitzers, but he has only 50k in the bank, so I'm guessing he won't.
This is another tough match - he's got as much guard as I do, and I only have marginally more ST. I do have a Dwarf with MB, Claw, PO though and he has 3 players with niggles, including one with a double niggle.
Normally I'd want to replace my missing dwarf, but without doing so I have 9 starters - the other dwarves, the BCs, the leader Hob, and the AG5 hob. If I replace the missing dwarf that means I can only field 1 star...and I'll have no one to foul with! If I don't replace him I can field two stars/mercs.
Looking at things that might be of value:
Morg 430
Grash 310
Wiz 150
DP Hob 120
Bribes 100 per
Chef 300
1) Morg, Wiz, Babe
2) Grash, DP Hob, Wiz, Babe
3) Buy my 6th Dwarf, DP Hob, Wiz, Bribe, Babesx2, Apoth
4) Buy my 6th Dwarf, Grash, Wiz, Bribe (and use someone other then a rookie Hob to foul with the bribe since I won't be able to field a rookie hob to begin with)
5) Buy my 6th Dwarf, Chef, Wiz, Bribe
What do you guys think?

Re: More Chaos Dwarf Endorsements/matchup questions
I don’t rate Morg or Grash vs elves. You are usually better concentrating on getting hits in with your blockers since they have tackle.
With less armour than the orcs and all those niggles fouling looks a lot more viable than the last game. So a DP hob (or 2) and some bribes are certainly an option.
Get a wizard for sure, even if it does nothing often the psychological impact can force your opponent to change how he plays.
I don’t think the 2nd apoth and more than 1 babe will be needed, spend that on the blocker or more bribes/dp mercs.
Chef is an option but a lot of money and can have little impact. Will the elves suffer from losing on average 3 re-rolls all game?

Re: More Chaos Dwarf Endorsements/matchup questions
I'm not big on stars at all honestly - they are all by intent overpriced.
But essentially the question is which is better, a rookie blocker with some other stuff like bribes or say Grashnak.
I don't see value in the 90k guy since I'll only get him for one drive and elves can score so quickly if they want.
So that would leave option 2:
Grash, DP Hob, Wiz, Babe
or something like:
Wizard, 6th blocker, DP Hob, Bribe, +210k of something else.
I don't see a ton of value in many bribes though if I get 3 instead of one it could be an amusing foul-a-thon.
Its too bad I can't get multiple wizards! Also why the hell doesn't Cyanide put in Hthark as a star? I would rather have him then Grashnak.

Re: More Chaos Dwarf Endorsements/matchup questions
Went with Grashnak, Wiz, DP Hob, and a Babe.
The Wiz allowed me to make a defensive stop.
Grashnak scored a CAS and was a dominating presence generally anchoring a cage corner or marking elves to open a path and got the MVP (grumble).
The DP Hob killed a lvl5 DE lineman - not much else really, but it ended up affecting how my opponent played - not generally leaving players completely exposed for a foul, and he took out a player worth more then himself (even considering the merc cost).
I don't think the babe did anything.
So I like the inducement choices I made.
I forced the DE to try and score fast in the first half when I kicked to them and they fumbled a pass - allowing me to get the ball with the wizard and end the half 0-0. I did have to use the apoth when one of my best dwarves was BH'd near the end of the first half - fortunately the only CAS I took.
The MB/Claw/PO guy had a good day with 1 CAS and 4 KOs.
In the second my opponent drew a blitz on the kickoff - but I was still able to slowly work my way up the field and score on T16 to win 1-0.

Re: More Chaos Dwarf Endorsements/matchup questions
My next match is against this Orc team:
http://bbm.jcmag.fr/BloodBowlManager.We ... 82&lang=en
And my team
http://bbm.jcmag.fr/BloodBowlManager.We ... 74&lang=en
If I take my 6th Blocker (and 13th player) I'll have 40k in inducements.
So, I can see two options...
1) Drop a Coach to make it 50k in inducements and take a Babe
2) Keep the Coach/Cheerleader and pick up another rookie Hobgob - for fouling or line fodder if I am kicking on T8.
Basically, what is better, a 14th Hobgob and a coach or a Babe keeping in mind 8 of my starters will have thick skull.

To me, 14th player.
Maybe he got lucky with these 5 m-blow. Being outnumbered with low ag is a b****.

Re: More Chaos Dwarf Endorsements/matchup questions
My Orc opponent missed the match, and now I've got a Skaven opponent in the playoffs. I'm going to be about 150TV below him - so wizard it will be.
The big question from my perspective is whether to kick or receive.
My opponent
http://bbm.jcmag.fr/BloodBowlManager.We ... lang=en-US
Note the Rat Ogre is out - but he has a MB/Claw SV and a DP Lineman.
My team
http://bbm.jcmag.fr/BloodBowlManager.We ... lang=en-US
Hobgob #11 got a regular skill so I'll go with DP as well.
Normally if you have a wizard, and if you face an agile team you want to kick. But...if I can take out that SV before he can start taking our dwarves it might make a big difference. Thoughts?
