I prefer similar/same poses for positionals like the old 2nd ed ranges. In my experience its an even split amongst coaches I've asked about it.Vanguard wrote:Am I alone in actually preferring duplicates for positionals? I find it much easier to identify players on the pitch and will always prioritise function over form.
That said, I do prefer unique sculpts where positionals are still easily differentiated. Most obvious recent example would be Meiko's lizardmen team. However, that's clearly easier with some races than others.
Will definitely pick up this set soon.

BigBelcher won them (one away on the raffle - gah!) and yes, he is very happy with them - he's even talking of taking a sensible team to a tournament so he can use them!glowworm wrote:Someone's going to be very happy with these.....

Will do when I see him next (I'm on holiday as of Monday, so won't for a couple of weeks).

Has anyone painted these up yet? I'm just about to prime mine but haven't quite got a colour scheme in mind yet. They seem to lend themselves to natural browns/fur colours with some brightness in the feathers etc.

Haha mate I came here to ask the same question
I was planning green with some bright feathers in a contrasting colour, with a deep green base..
I have seen the GW ones in a purple colour with green feathers, that seems to work too?

Here are some early WIP pics. I am very happy with the sculps. I think they look great. Unfortunately some other teams have jumped the line and are demanding to be painted first so I will not likely get back to work on my Amazon team for a while.

Thanks for posting pics! Super cool with the size comparison - cheers for that. Looking forward to see them finished, when time comes.
Is there anyone out there with a picture of a non-painted team, as well? I'd really like to see the sculpting quality.

Mine are unpainted so I'll try to post a pic tomorrow night. My photographing skills may not give you the detail you want but I'll see what I can do!

Re: Impact! releases 16 player $35 Amazon team
I picked up this team at Gencon. After looking at them, I was so impressed with the sculpt and quality and cost of the team I went back later that day and bought the two deadwood treemen set and the super punch troll.
So, a full positional 16-player roster, a troll, and two treemen for all well under what any other team would have cost me.
I know people have been requested pictures, but I just wanted to say I am quite impressed with this new plastic line. They are amazing. And Super Punch Troll looks so much more phenomenal in person than the pictures do justice.

Re: Impact! releases 16 player $35 Amazon team
My team arrived yesterday, took about a week for delivery to Glasgow, well packaged and no VAT due on arrival. Only had time for a quick look, but nice looking models, scale well with 3rd edition plastic teams (all I have for comparison purposes). Seem a lot closer to GW Finecast models than their plastic stuff. Plenty of flash, models will need a good bit of preparation before painting.
Forced myself to pop them in a box till I wrap up the team currently on my painting table. I'll post some pics when I get round to working on them.
